OK - that is a good idea Subron

EDIT
Dammit - now I have to spend the whole weekend playing SH4
Man what a drag :03::):D:D

Second Edit

Having a chance to re-read the last five pages or so (this time on a proper monitor rather than a tiny phone screen), it does indeed look as if CapnScurvy's 0.26 Beta Update is what fixed the issues

If this is the case - good work and thanks Capn :salute:

Max, take a look at this image posted yesterday:

http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...pult%20Fix.jpg

The .cfg file of FORTSU v.25Beta for the Catapult ship is on the left....the right hand image is your "800 Razz Dazz FOTRSU v0.65". Besides the "UnitType=102" (which as been changed for the Catapult ship, AFTER you made your mod. It's been changed to UnitType=18, for the sake of flying planes from it when in-game), there's a difference between the two files.

Your RazzDazz mod definitely has the Catapult skins, the FOTRSU v.25 does not. So, are you saying there are other ships that you've looked at in FOTRSU v.25 that have your modifications? I'm not home to look again, but the Catapult ship doesn't have your changes in v.25.

Yes you are right Capn

In the museum I checked the freighters, tankers and troop transports

I did not however check the new category we now have (cruisers with scout planes I think it is called?)

A quick look in the museum and you are right, the CatShip is not showing my skin
Looks like my roster cfg for this ship has been overwritten
(I am sure you already know this, but the roster file for each ship controls the date range for each skin)

No big deal - I can send you a new one, with the correct class designation

Now you have got me thinking

Rather than a quick look through the Museum, I will spend this weekend comparing all of my original Razzle Dazzle roster cfgs with those used in the latest BETA, and also make sure I check all of my ships in the Museum, to look out for more issues like this

Gonna whack my install of SH4 and move a clean version over from the external 1TB drive. I may have corrupted this install.

A quick note you might not be aware of on JSGME.
Say we want to delete a file when we install an update or patch.
I'll use the NCA_Deutschland folder as the example.
As you can see it has 2 different dats and such.
Make a few new blank txt files and rename them as below to remove those with JSGME!
Make sure you put them in the NCA_Deutschland folder!

NBC_GrafSpee.dat-remove
NBC_GrafSpee.dsd-remove
NBC_GrafSpee.val-remove
NBC_GrafSpee.zon-remove

POOF!! They will be gone!
:D

The only change I made to the FOTRSU v.25 Beta in the .cfg files has been to the UnitType value. There are only three ships that weren't BB's, CA's, CL's that have plane capacity on the Japanese side. The Catapult ship, the Aux Cruiser Aikoku, and the Chitose. No other changes to the file.....maybe the power-at-be didn't put in the right .cfg at upload? Have you seen the Intro Screen?!?:O:

Jeff-Groves 09-22-16 04:01 PM

Well I confirmed the corruption of my install.

Whacking Mode is a GO!
:haha:

Jeff-Groves 09-22-16 04:45 PM

Got the fresh install in and was sitting here watching the Whale swim.
:D

Yep. The animated Whale works great!! Got a few tweeks for SH4 to do and then the Mission Guys can have Her and do their magic.

Special Thanks to Jimbuna, Chief of the Boat for GWX, for permissions!
:yeah:

Available from the top level of the Area 51 Drive

Works in the museum.
I have not tried it in single missions or campaigns

All it is - a new roster file for ths CatShip
Has my date ranges for the different skins.
Has the unit type changed to 18 to work with the Capn's scout plane ships

I will go over the rest of he roster this weekend to check if everything else is OK

And a little bit of binocular feedback for the Capn

I am running 1920 x 1080

Using your latest 0.26 Beta fix, the binocular heading degree thingy is a lot better (sorry, could not remember the proper name for it)

See screenie

You can see where it is now
Up near the top of the binocs

The red line is where it sat in the last build before your latest beta fix
Much better - thanks

Jeff-Groves 09-22-16 05:34 PM

Fixed it for you Mate.

Thanks Jeff
My Internet is FUBARED at the moment, I have just spent the last half hour trying to log into Imgur to see what I had done wrong

Guess I just made a typo in my post that FUBARED the image?

Cheers mate

Jeff-Groves 09-22-16 06:15 PM

Museum still crashes on me.
Not really surprised with all the messed up stuff I keep finding.

cdrsubron7 09-22-16 08:30 PM

OK, I kinda got carried away with the intro screens. But what the hey, we can make some JSGME mods for them and if someone gets bored of one intro screen, they can always load another, right? :D

Any way, here's what I've come up with, let me know what you think guys. :salute:

I found I had what is it called Paint.net on my computer. I will try using it to covert the files to DDS. Anybody know what resolution the should be? Hopefully I will be able to upload the original jpgs and the DDS to Area 51 by Saturday evening. :yeah:

Thanks Jeff Groves for providing the image.

Well the issue is still not right. The Binocular image should look like this:

http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...wlee/1600x.jpg

This is with the game using a 1600x1200, 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Notice how the "background" image is smaller than your image (there's more binocular rim showing at the top and bottom). The Compass Bearing is where it should be....over the small vertical line at the top/center of the rim. I'm beginning to think this game was just not intended to be played on the hardware we use today. Wide screen flat panels replaced the 4:3 and 8:5 boxy CRT's which were the norm when the game was developed. I just don't think "all" possible resolutions will do as good a job rendering the game as some others....it just wasn't expected to.

There is a way to push the Compass Bearing higher for those that don't have it positioned where it should.....but one fix won't work the same for another when there's so many different resolutions being used. If anyone wants to do it I can show you how. It will be up to you to play until your satisfied with the results.:salute:

Max, I do see the Razzle Dazzle additions you've made in FOTRS v.25 Beta...all except for the Catapult ship?!? What a coincidence!! The very one I pick, is the one that stood behind the door when the changes were passed out. I should go and buy a lottery ticket.
