New AM tower texture and UV Map
 
forgot I had to import the image in the .dat, it's done now, just unwrap in objects folder of mod :

Ask Peabody, he did it for the US side, try it out then decide. They weren't used operationnally as opposed to the I-13 class anyways.

And Yes, please do the skins ! the one for the tower(s) you have to extract using S3D from the .dat, the others are already there (.dds) I'll post the templates to the Jyunsen B tower and Type AM tower later today, dds 2048 x 2048.

I had to flip faces on both the hull and the tower, and quite a few.. move the tower to a better position thus having to move the AA guns and crew etc.. along with the periscopes, radio antenna and such.

now it is done. :D

hmmm, there seems to be a revetment on the starboard side of the tower that would be PERFECT for a snorkel...:hmm:

can't wait to see it ! what do you think of the snorkel ? we will release the 3.0 version with both Type AM and Jyunsen B snorkels shortly.

I need to implement the captured 5inch gun for both subs (not have to "buy" it) and the tarmatte for the type AM.

any textures to go with that ?

not quite yet, still working on them, my 3d modeler has konked out lately, so im trying to find a new one (speaking of which, what do YOU use?)
and then its off to making skins work.

only a few more days and i'll get everything going again.

3D studio max 9.0 :D

Btw I'm trying to add the different Type 22 radars (both drum and stick) to the Senzori.dat, same as a real jap snorkel. all those in the version 3.0 of the mod, along with your skins ? we have a little time now ;)

New IJN snorkel model
 
It is using Sledgehammer427's camo pattern that I modified to follow the IJN colors, midget subs were sometimes camouflaged like this, so is the I-53 it seems.

Are those the colors they used? Wouldn't it be better with blues and grays rather than green and orange? Just seems to me the green and orange would stick out on the ocean. It just looks more like an 'in the woods' type camo.

yes, i am sure it could be raised, tin that position, it wouldnt do much good...

snorkels are designed to keep the boat safe in the depths, while allowing the desiels to recharge the batteries and keep the crew breathing...

therefore, i would say a 4m rise should be good...a good test start

There is a separate thread for the Campaign that has some pics. We get closer every day. Just takes time to change all these files especially graphics and submarines. We do run into things we don't understand and it takes a day or so to figure out. And sometimes we (me mostly) make a stupid mistake and spend all day trying to figure out why it doesn't work the way it is suppose to.

We did a few things I think you will like and tried some others that just didn't work. It coming slower than expected, but this is the first time we have tried anything like this.

Soon I hope, but we don't want to release it full of mistakes either.

But I have to hurry up and get the Campaign finished, Keltos keeps making more subs to put into it.:rotfl:

We need to get rid of the dummy snorkel, the real Type 22 AM "stick" radar is on !, and the new snorkel is there too, even though it's front to back ! (look at the RL pictures here above).
