Look at Tak's Eagles, they're taking this seriously. Bring on the playoffs!
Now, for the first time evah. The Raiders have the #1 draft pick. Poor bastage. |

I'm feeling queasy and it isn't all the Greek food I ate for New Years eve dinner. Oh well, at least the Bears have a week to get their act together before the playoffs. |
Sorry Bears fans, but I was quite happy to see Farve kick some tail in what could be his last game.
What the hell happened to Grossman anyway? |
Forget the '85 Bears. Forget the Steel Curtain. Yep, the '06 Packer's 'Swiss Cheese' defense is now, unquestionably, the greatest in history. After all, they stymied the attack of history's greatest quarterback, Rex Grossman. Fans of the playoff-bound teams must be breathing sighs of relief that the Pack is going home for the year, for if they could do it to the mighty Rex Grossman, imagine what they could do to lesser QBs like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.
In seriousness, 2006 ends in with all being back to normal: Philly is once again the NFC East champion, Detroit, once again, shoots themselves in their collective foot, and Rex Grossman looks like Rex Grossman again. All is right in football. |
Tak and I need to have our own thread to make fun of QBs! It'll be fun! I'll make nachos, a few drinks...bring some black magic-markers and darts!:hmm: :()1:
I miss living in Minnesota. You are either a Viking fan or a Packer fan. I had a boss one time, who was big-time a Packer fan.:88) His office was covered with Packer pictures, he even had a life-size Fav-Ray cardboard cut out! ...so after the Vikes would beat them, "stuff" usually happened to the Fav-ray cut-out:cool: . So now that I'm in Ore-gone, I must endure hearing how great he (Joey) is:rotfl: . I have to bite my tongue everytime I see someone wearing a "Harrington" Lion's Jersey!:dead: Oh well, It's playoff time :()1: !!!!!!! |
Living in Allentown Pa, I am a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, although I think Brett Farve is great and I like to see him play well. My green and white (and silver and black now  ) are flying high after it looked like this season was over back in week 9. I was critical of the Garcia acquisition back in the spring, but I was wrong. I actually think that they are more balanced without McNabb. Anytime they get the ball to Brian Westbrook, who might just be the most underappreciated player in the NFL (how did he not make the Pro Bowl? He is the Philadelphia offense), I am happy. Also, I am writing in Brian Dawkins for president in '08.
I also have no problem with the Chicago Bears, but just don't like flavors of the month, and I think Rex Grossman is one. Also, I just can't stand the way he runs the offense. I like Brian Urlacher, I have nothing against Muhsin Muhammad; I don't think that Devin Hester is anywhere near the list of greatest kick returners in history (who could after just one good performance?) but I don't have anything against him either. Furthermore, I like Lubby Smith. I think he's a good coach. I think he's done good things with the organization. However, they will recieve my boos and taunts so long as they start Grossman. It was the same with Aikman, although not entirely because he was, after all, playing for the hated Dallas Cowgirls. I guess you could make a better comparison with Bill Romanowski, although he was a jerk who deliberately tried to injure other players; Grossman is not. I suppose that it would be like Keyshawn Johnson, but without the talent. We'll go with that one. |

Poor Aaron Brooks. Now nobody wants him, and it looks like his cousin may not be far behind. Scramblers seem to have very short careers. |

Rex Grossman played poorly, but don't forget that Brian Greise looked like a trip to the eye doctor was in order as well. I wouldn't give this game too much significance towards the playoffs though, the Bears were a team playing to avoid injury and the Packers were a team playing for their last chance to improve their collective pride. Still it does make me worried, just like the Bears preseason did-before they won 7 straight to start the regular season. Its the playoffs - you never know... Quote:

Saints lost, but they pulled all but a few starters by the middle of the 2nd quarter, so they really didn't care, so I won't either.
On the other hand, Chicago's starters played the entire game, and lost by a bigger margin than the Saints! Wassup with that??? :o |
Go Ravens
The Ravens are going to take all!!!! |
