Jaesen has contacted me and is retiring from SH3 Commander. He says its ok to share his work between each other as long as you respect the licence agreement.

Also his last good bye he gave me his last updated patch for SH3 Commander which I will share the his fans. I'm posting his full exe installation and the latest patch below.

R3.1.3.185,
This differs in that it also adds minor improvements to the "Start patrols
at sea" feature.

Just extract the patch to your SH3Cmdr folder and overwrite the existing files (two will be updated).

Thanks JScones for all your hard work over the years. I appreciate all the blood and sweat you put into this to help us enjoy SH3 better.

Thanks you very much,

Wolfehunter

Best regards.

Hello JScones,
thank you very much for that nice addition to Silent Hunter III. It is a shame to see you go/stop the work on it, but then it is already as perfect as it can be
Thanks again, your work has added some real atmosphere!
Greetings,
Catfish

JScones - First, I thank you for creating and supporting SH3 Commander!

I reviewed the thread back a few pages to see what events transpired and I can emphatize concerning the various issues encountered while supporting a software application. I support several applications as an analyst at work and must provide an interface between the user issues/concerns/critiques and the programmers/developers. Some days it is a very stressful environment of trying to weed out the actual issues from all the 'wanna haves" to the software and getting development to agree the items need fixing and then fix those that really need to be fixed. Sometimes it seems I am in the middle with both sides angry at me!!

Thankfully I am paid to do this! In the realm of freeware there is not much (if any) monetary compensation but the user issues will continue to be reported and expectations to fix the application remain. I appreciate you sticking with this for as long as you have.

So, once again, I thank you for SH3 Commander. It is an excellent tool to use with SH3. I wish you the best and thank you for allowing the latest update to be hosted elsewhere so that many of us can update our programs. Cheers!

Well, that turned for the worse. I started at page 5 and worked my way up to the pulling of the mod off the download site. All I can say is it looked like everyone was going at JS like banshi with issue after issue. In short, give the guy some breathing room to handle any issues. Take a break JS! I have never used this mod but I know that ALL say SH3 without Commandor is like scotch and water without the scotch....it just does not taste right. In fact, it has no taste at all. So, go outside, feel the sun on your face and smell the fresh air for a while. Come on back when you are ready to add the scotch to the water.

SH3 Commander Release 3.1 is now available!

JS,

I have not even bothered to read further back in this trail, if it has made you decide to leave then it is not worth reading. Your work here has been monumental and I am very sorry that something or someone has made you decide to leave - what a loss to the SH3 community (take note those whiners concerned). I am very sorry to hear that you feel compelled to leave and you can rest assured that you will be missed. Your work and dedication has been greatly appreciated and I continue to enjoy the benefit of your hours of dedication and sacrifice. Thank you very much J Scones and I hope you may decide to come back - if not, all the very best for the future.

Respectfully,
K Gunz

Sometimes it is worth reading :yep:, if you did it would give you an idea on the sheer amount and type of questions that make their way to JSc, as well you would also see that Sailor Steve ( not that he needs me to help him out ) feels bad for what has happened.

Time sometimes has a way of working things out, let's hope that is the case here.

I'm also am sorry to see you leave (especially on such a negative note). Your SH3 Cmdr software helped to breathe new life into SH III & you will be sorely missed. We are/were fortunate to have someone like you who was willing to invest so much time and effort in creating this great add-on.

I would like to close by wishing all the best in the future.:)

Respectfully I am sure you did not really mean to patronise me. I have been visiting this site long enough to know the kinds of remarks that can be made here - all (I'm sure) with the best intentions. However, when circumstances lead to a great modder leaving the scene should it not make us all stand up and pay attention? I think this is a very worrying time for Subsim - I think I have seen at least 2 very good modders leave in just 24 hours - that is not good news is it? I am sure the rest of this trail does make fascinating and interesting reading but to lose modders to me is a tragic loss. Is it not time to try to keep those modders who remain and make sure that we do not p**s them off too? I think so.

Respectfully.
K Gunz

Relax KG, I was simply pointing out what you are alluding to in your last post, " paying attention ". If you are so concerned with someone leaving, would you not want to see perhaps why, so as to get a clear rather than general picture of the situation.
