tater lives in NM also and has the mod.
Contact him maybe he can send you a floopy of it or meet him for it. |
Other side of the state, however (our counties are bigger than CT—from where my 'puter desk is, if you threw Connecticut out on the mesa it would look like a throw rug ;) ).
I could burn a CD and mail it, I guess. Let me know. tater |

This looks fantastic!!!! Thanks modders
My only complaint, seems everyone else can enjoy the sea foam but not me :damn: Seems I'm cursed with "fair weather", have been ever since I installed the original LBO mod. Before installing ROTW I deleted my SH4 save-game folder totally, let SH4 make a new one then reset all my graphic/sound/gameplay options. I've started a new campaign and left port 3 or 4 times, every time without exception the weather is totally clear, 5 m/s winds. Within a few hours of leaving Pearl, winds drop to 0 m/s and stay that way no matter what  I can sail for 5, 10, 15 days and wind is always pegged on 0 m/s?!!??? It was that way also after I put LBO on, did a full patrol and never saw any wind at all! Does anyone know how to hack the save files to brew up a storm? Or how to get my weather engine working again? Used to be I'd get a good variety of weather on every patrol, from dead calm to raging thunderstorms. But now I don't get "weather" at all! :damn::damn::damn: Maybe an uninstall/reinstall of SH4 is in order? DH |
Download advice
if you have access to a usb memory card and a public library you should have no problem downloading larger files. i travel all the time and have less than optimium internet access. most public libraries are wifi now also so i usually just laptop it in the parking lot.

I tryed to work with how often and how fast the game changes weather conditions and slightly adjusted them to make it happen faster but the game still does what it wants from time to time. Just no absolute way to control the over all weather effect changes.
And other things for that matter the game works funny at times. I have done saves on a full moon night and when reloaded it is no longer full but if I go back before the actual moon rise then it is full again. Just a bug that there is little control over at times. BTW I added the 7z's zip to the main download instead of the WinUHA with the missing files I added at the bottom so any new downloads will not need those bottom files. |

That is strange what you say about the moon phase, I was thinking the sim had the astronomical data done correctly such as you'd see in a planetarium program. I used to be into astronomy 30 or 40 years ago and the sky looked pretty damn correct to me based on the few brief glimpses I saw of it. (Too busy with other things to spend any time stargazing!) Maybe I'll fire up Red Shift or Starry Nights tonight, and set the date to Dec 9 1941, location to Pearl, and just see how well the moon phase and star position in SH4 matches reality. DH |

the game it's self does do real time
astro rotation BUT the save game files do not always copy every bit of information correctly to be reaplyed to the game once the save is loaded Dirty Harry.
So as I said if you go back to a save before the moon rise it then works properly because it hadn't happend yet. Hence the problem with the lightning not working until you get rid of the save files. |
has anyone else had this hapen
http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/4...0937nq2.th.png The raft is upside down, i know its not the mod, its the green im talking about. This is with your mod installed, so maybe its a bug or glitch that can be fixed, its not a major issue though. i took this when i was droping some soldiers off at the philipines in 1941,they are upisde down padling, first mision in the carreer. with your mod installed for the first time. EDIT: im not getting any foam like in those pics, how come you have it, guess u have a beter system and can run on higher settings than me. maybe seas are not rough enough yet. |
that is the ropes around the raft
that your seeing as a floresent green color. I did notice it once before but didn't think nothing of it. It is possable the color was changed accidently when enhancing the reflection's for the object. Or the ilumination file for it isn't working properly. Either way I will investigate it.

i know its no big thing but i figured i would post seeing its an alpha and you need to know the bugs, anyway other than that, great mod so far:up:

This mod its the best of the best!!
Thanks and high praise for the crew that put this together, well done; now SH4 is a visual delight.
I wonder if you can do much along similar lines with SH3, or is the graphics engine of SH3 too primitive, just a thought. I noticed a couple of issues that I thought to raise, would like some commend from the Mod team. At night the ship reflections seem to glow under the ship, everything above the water line is correct and lifelike but the actual reflection of the ship itself glows brightly. Also I noticed at least with my first sub in a new career early 42 based in Java. The reflections for the sub and conning tower is fine and perfectly life-like, but the actual periscope housing or tower, the structure that projects above the lookouts and the main conning tower, their reflection seems to be just grey, the shape and outline are reflected on the water but a different colour than the reflection from the rest of the sub, kind of a blank grey, as if there you have the template but not the filling if you get what I mean. I have also discovered that this mod doesn’t seem to work very well when you are near to ships ported from SH3. The closer you get the foam and all the wonderful detail just drops away and there are many screen white outs or flashes, I've taken now taken out the SH3 related mods, I think its called ship power pack and the mod now runs fine. Incidentally the ported ships from SH3 just seem to highlight just how graphically primitive SH3 is to SH4, no crit of the modder who produced the mod, just, well thank god for progress!! Thanks to all, I wonder if others have noticed any funny stuff re reflections, otherwise, in my opinion this is probably one of the finest mods, up there with Trigger Maru, Captain Cox's mods, GWX and NYGM.
