I use WINRAR
but... just in case you don't know. When you download one of Fred's Radio Stations which consist of say 19 different files, you only have to run the extraction program on the file #1, the rest of the files are automatically included in the extraction as long as they have been downloaded to the same subdirectory as file #1.
Repeat, there is no need to extract files #2 through #X. I hope this helps... FWIW, I made the same mistake and "unzipped" all of them and was wondering why my file count in the directory was staying the same. Fred mentions this in the read.me installation instructions. BTW, Fred, thanks for all of your hard work making SH4 sound like the 40's! |
I used RSM 1.2 by Digital Trucker
I am using RSM 1.2 by Digital Trucker. Does that make a difference?
|
RSM by digital trucker?
I don't know if RSM actually extracts the RAR files from the downloads. I think that it is a Radio Station Management program and that the Radio Stations have to be installed first using a RAR extractor such as WINRAR or other RAR extraction program.
Perhaps you can ask Digital Trucker if his program extracts the RAR. Anyone? |
RSM doesn't extract. It only edits or fixes the radio save game problem. BTW, you may have a problem using RSM if you have my new KOTR station. RSM has a 1500 events limit in it, and KOTR has over 2600! I don't know what it'll do, just be aware there may be a problem.
If you don't have an archiver program, there are several free ones out there. Just make sure it can do RAR. I use Winrar. While it does cost, once you pay you get all updates free for life. |
Just simply amazing Fred!
The amount of work collecting and putting together.. Possibly my Favorite WWII mod in any game! I like it so much I had to make a standalone player to allow the WWII songs to play while in any game..lol.. wish I was good enough to make it look better...anyways.. Thanks again for the hard work you provide! http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...3a9f9e39ee.jpg |
Hi Fred!
Your mods are great finding and value addition for my collection of vintage music. Could you help me with identefing of this sample http://files.filefront.com/Bing+Cros.../fileinfo.html I believe it is sang by Bing Crosby, but I can't find out which song it is, neither find the full length version. |

The search also turned up info saying the song was recorded between 1941 and 1942. It's one I don't have, but will keep an eye out for. |
Ok, thanks. So do I since it is one of my best favorite tunes.

I want to thank all the contributors to this post for their help as i have been reading through these posts, it has been a tremendous help. I have downloaded a lot of the music for the gramaphone and im in the process of downloading a couple of the radio stations now and i have installed the RSM mod to get these working as well. I do have a couple questions that have probably simple answers that i just havent caught in reading the forums. First off, i thought i read somewhere that there was a way to "randomise" the music in your gramaphone foler? That would be a huge win for furthur enjoyment of all the great music that i have downloaded.
I forgot my second question....lol im sure it will pop up again soon.. Many thanks to all the people involved with this mod. For me this makes it a "complete" game much more so than any other mod. |
Read the paragraph after the 1930s Music in the Other Music section of the very first post in this thread.
Or you can just click the below: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111597 :D :D :D :D :D |
i have installed KOTR radio station (what a monster!!! 62 rar files!!) and have installed it and dumped all my music that was destined for the gramaphone folder into the KOTR folder. Everything seems to be working fine, but i noticed the music seems to be randomised, am i just "hearing" things or does the radio station randomly pick a song to play between programs? I hope this is the case.

Thanks for all of the awesome music, news and shows. It makes those long cruises across the pacific much more enjoyable.
|
I've downloaded these radio stations. I have music downloaded into the station name itself (not the events folder) but I'm hearing nothing.
The radio doesn't stop-even at the Washington station, which worked previously. I suspect the culprit is the radio.ini file. Would anybody be willing to post their radio.ini so I can see what I'm doing wrong? |
