Hi anyone else get this occuring in their game? Basically I get two main sorts of model deformations, one is their eyes become comically large, the second results in them taking on paper like properties and warping sidewards (hard to explain just check the pictures):

This is the game copy protection apparently - only you can say whether you're seeing this for the right or wrong reasons...

Yup its for the right, I'll admit i used a modified exe, but I most definately own the original and always support the makers of games. (for others information is was mainly so I can play lan with my family members, heck if its neccesary i'll post pics of my case and CD :D )

*Why isnīt there any info. about the different SUBS depht limits and other things?
When I start a campaign I would like to have some info about the SUB of my choise. There should be a pic. of the sub and info about it!!
I managed to dive my Salomon to 325ft. Think itīs limit is 250ft.(test depth)

The recognition manual that comes with some versions of the game have a bit more info on all ships and subs. For example, they include lengths, speeds and for subs range, torp tubes etc. (all in metric though!)

As for dive depth what do you want to happen if you dive past the test depth?

I own the Deluxe Edition with a rec.manual, but it doenīt say anything about depht.
I want to know the test depth for each SUB. Sure I can find it here but thats beside the point.

No need to prove anything to me or anyone here :)

You might want to trim the original post though so it doesn't take up too much space. Might be worth leaving a picture in so that anyone else with the same problem will see the cause and not bother posting...

EDIT : NVM see you've already done it.

Relax !

Actually i do have what I consider to be a bug to report.

As far as I know it is only possbile to open the torpedo doors by pressing the 'q' button.

This means that you can never have more than 1 torpedo tube opened....

I doubt that this is historically correct, so imho it's a bug.

SH III had this as well, but there you could play with the tube doors via the weps off. , and the conning tower.

Yesterday (or the day before) there was a thread about how it was explained the Americans could only shoot one torp at a time, not in salvos like the u-boats. So I guess that's why you can't have all your torp doors open at the same time.

DaMaGe007 03-23-07 08:18 AM

Things Ive noticed so far...

The clouds are too fast sometimes it looks stupid...

The annoying stopwatch has to go, or be adjustable in size, it pops up everytime you use a higher time compression and yet if you fire a torp you get no stopwatch...

there definatly needs to bee some audible warnings for damage, I got sunk and didnt even realize I had been hit...I think the captain would be notified...and were my guys trying to fix it ? I dont know...

I also get an anoying graphics flicker when at the bridge now and then.

When Pressing "." to view your sub or other ships the mouse wheel doesnt zoom in and out.

Where did the arcady ship info at perriscope view go ? target speed and heading and ship type...I really want this window back, Im not a realizm freak. Right now Im shooting at things I dont know what they are...

No flag listing sheet and (dragable crono easily accesible)....did the devs play grey wolves ?

the enlarging ship icons on the map view when you click on them are annoying and I cant see any reason to have them change like that.

Adjustable realizm settings for career mode are gone...please bring them back...I want to specify...

thats all for now after a few hours play.

Dowly 03-23-07 08:23 AM

When you press the guy thatīs leaning over the map in your control room your view is slightly zoomed to him and he turns to look you, if you wait for a few secs so he turns back and then click again to the guy the view zoomes more, again wait and click again zoooooooooooooooooooooooooom, after a few times, the camera is 1mm away from his eye.

So, the make it short, when clicking the guy, the zoom doesnt reset automatically to normal when he turns away.

Box causing Frame rate drop

I have managed a mission,
The random CTD seem to have stopped, using the 'a' key to hold depth produces a CTD whether metric or imperial. Using the Depth Gauge to control depth doesn't.
I have updated video drivers Nvidia 93.71, and Sound drivers for Audigy 2 to the latest.
I have now an extensive fram rate drop when viewing the sub from the port side.
At an angle on the port bow looking to the stern slightly away from the sub I have seen a clear box edge when the camera passes through the box frame rates drop to 1 a second maybe. That was starting a new career at sea off Pearl, after dying in a previous career. Outside of the box I can scroll the camera anywhere at any speed
Here's a screen capture of the box edge :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn:

Back ro Radar:

Maybe it can't be turned on when there's only ONE Radar-type installed at your boat?

The button to turn the Radar on says "Turn on BOTH Radars"

Think this might be the problem why it is grayed out and we can't turn on only one Radar.

My recommendation for this is to take each and every boat down to the point of crush depth...and when sub implodes...mark the depth and hand write in test depth...cause thats the depth you tested the boat to ;)

I also have a bug that I am surprised no one has mentioned in this rather long thread. I noticed that the majority of ships that sink release life boats....however I have yet to see any crewmembers in these boats and they do appear to have some sort of headway. The beginnings of a ghost ship?

Fire 03-23-07 10:19 AM

I can confirm that. "My" lifeboats are also alway empty.

Really bad AI - Destroyers

Just attacked a convoy of freighters escorted by three destroyers:

After using all my torpedoes - i surfaced. I was about 1000 metres from one of the destroyers. After a couple of minutes it suddenly starts to move towards me - I guessed it had seen me - but it didn't fire a single shot only these flares to light up the sky- another destroyer came fast but that one did not fire any shots either.
They started circling maybe 600 metres behind me deploying depthcharges (as I was underneath them) but I was actually on the surface watching them quite close.
It was dark and fairly high waves - but clear so it was no reason for the DD's to not spot me!

On the Silent Hunter page I see this romanian guy talking about the great AI - well I can't say I'm impressed.

The graphics, however, is outstanding!
