I post this for informational purposes and I am in no way complaining ;)
For the record, this was recorded using TM 1.7 but ROW elements display the exact same. I have tried everything from the lowest resolution w/ all candy off with all driver options ap controled and it stays the same.

It's worth noting that I do not get this with stock 1.4. However the camera in stock does not go high enough to get this.

I'm very curious if anyone else is getting this.

All the objects in the game are not set up to render that far. This is what your seeing in the video you posted. In the files for ROW there is a visable rendering distance setting for each and every object in the game including tree's. 1,000's of nodes another words that need to be changed and experimented with to see what will work.

Havn't gotten into that yet as there are a lot of tree nodes in the game. So yes the game can do it now but the dev's didn;t set up all the objects to comply with what the game can do.

BTW I am uploading the missing files from the links now like the Hi Res Sea foam and the Ships but the ships have not been touched yet for the 1.4 compatability so use at own risk for now just satisfying those simple requests.

No sweat Dave. The more important question is how are you feeling?:yep:

leovampire 12-06-07 07:24 PM

So unfortunatly the work is going slow for the first time since I started to mod for SHIV.

It frustrates me to no end not being able to keep the same pace I did a few weeks ago.

No coffee no soda no cake's or ice cream no excitment and no sex :damn: . How should a 43yo man feel when everything you like you can no longer have or do? Nothing that raises my heart rate up. But salt is okay because my blood pressure is way low.

My PT level for my blood is being kept thin enough so that a simple impact can cause internal bleeding so I have to becarfull not to fall or bump into things to hard that means no driving for fear of an accident:damn: . Sometimes I wonder if it is all worth it. Might as well be a boy in a plastic bubble. :rotfl:

And I and the doctors are nervous as I have had a lot of heart pain or chest pains depending on how you under stand it. We and they do not know why yet.

But thanks for asking.

I know it must be tough on you, hell we're the same age for cryin out loud. I'm not gonna even pretend to know what kind of hell you're going through. Just know that you've got alot of friends pulling for you, even though we've never met. Keep your chin up, and keep fightin.

leovampire 12-06-07 08:19 PM

Oh ya I am keeping my chin up to say the least

I never give up a fight or surender that is why I am still here now.

BTW the broken links for the Hi Res sea foam amd Ship Reflections is repaired but the ships I havn't made 1.4 compatable so use at own risk for the moment.

I am working as fast as I can on it all guys.

I will add a new full download for the sound mod tomarrow with all the new work done there. I did enough uploading for now tomarrow is another day.

And thanks for standing by me everyone it helps to keep me going!

What you're going through sounds really tough...you really are one hell of a fighter to keep your spirits up like you do. I'm glad you've got your dogs there, my dog is the best company there is when I'm not feeling good. Don't worry about working at a slow pace...you've given so much to all of us that everyone is more than happy to remain patient.:yep:

Take it easy

Hi Leo,

Hope you are getting better, just take it easy and mod if you feel like it  This community can wait, the most important thing is your health and that you are enjoy the modding, it's the reason we are here aint it? :hmm:

BTW I was thinking about including my warships mod in ROW when I am finished so you can include the caustics on the dat-files to have a height at max 0.5 to 1 meter (the caustics should not be seen higher) , so I have made my mod purely textures so you can work on the other thing. Still have some more ships to texture and will look at making the portholes smaller as suggested, but now all the IJPN warships and some of the carriers have new textures.

letterboy1 12-07-07 03:52 AM

Hi Leo, I'm part vampire for a little while now. Got some bronchitis so I'm up at odd hours checking the forums. Hope your doing alright.

Hey, would you like a shot of this vaseline-smelling prescription cough syrup? It actually smells like that scented vaseline which gets used for for babies when they get their diapers changed. Now, I can understand that with generic knock-off prescription meds you won't get the same high-quality flavorings as with name brands, but vaseline?! I mean, couldn't they just add some Kool-Aid to it instead? I'd do it myself if it weren't too late . . . Kool-Aid and Vaseline doesn't sound much better. Oh well, it does work though, so no real problem . . . it's just weird.

Okay, back to bed for Letterboy.

leovampire 12-07-07 05:35 PM

I am in the middle of uploading the new sound file for ROW

Should be posted soon it will say ROW_sound_effects vs_8

It will have new work from LukeFF and the add on sounds together plus the one's you loved orginaly. Also some of them have been reworked to be much better like how the ship engine's and props sound at the SO station and more.

Also I am adding a 1.4 Compatable line to all parts of the mod I confirm are okay to use with the 1.4 patch. As I update the other files I will post a message saying the new download is ready for everyone.

I am going back and forth between the mod parts in work so I don't get tired of what I am doing. I am working on increasing the visability of land based objects to match the new game engine capabilities but there are a ton of tree files and I get frustrated with them so I keep switching around to parts of the mod getting all ready and updated.

Dave

Okay done and ready:

#9. ROW Sound Effect's: Can be added to your game at any time. Best used with realistic sound travel time turned on.

#9a ROW_Sound_Effect's_vs_8 For a start contains the Hollywood Sound files for screams. New work by LukeFF / Torps and special thanks to Dr.Beast for the sub net fix. This it it guy's the last and final release of the ROW sound effect's. All repairs for sounds that were causing problems are in here along with some new reworked stuff for change of shift sound's where you can hear the door hatches opening and closing with the men running on stairs and decks. And an M60 machine gun sound with the shell's droping for the AA gun and louder and extended reload sound for the deck gun as well as new rel life aircraft sound's for the plane's in the game and cleaned up prop hydro's for ship's. And thanks to Willhelmtell for his sound distance boost also included in with the sounds. Also has the add on pack in it and some new work and repairs from LukeFF. Added on 12/07/07 1.4 compatable

I am working on figuring out how to add sounds available in the game but not being used by the game and when I master it I will make a download for the work available. Tieing in the harbor sounds to objects like the light house and or docks things like that.

Glad to see you back Leo

Welcome back! Please take it easy. My dad rushed his recovery from heart surgery and had a major setback.

leovampire 12-07-07 06:25 PM

Thanks for the concern but

This was just a new Pace Maker and Heart attack no major surgery. Believe me if my Rib's had been seperated again and grinding around I would not be doing this! :rotfl:

Anyways guys I am off for now going to do some more work and try to have something ready for you guys tomarrow as well.

BTW please note on the main thread page the mod parts that have this line:

1.4 compatable

Anything that has that in the discription means it is okay to use with no problems right now.
