Well, the Saints lost, and to the then 4-9 Redskins to boot!!

But, because Atlanta and Carolina both lost too, the Saints won their third ever division title, and first in the NFC South! :D :D :D

LT is a monster. Who needs a passing game with him in your backfield?

I don't know how many football games ya'll have seen in person, not just television on sunday.

But George Blanda is the best all around football player I have ever seen play the game the way it should be played in person.

He could run, he could pass, he kicked the football on quick kicks on third down, he punted the ball and he kicked the field goals too.

After George Blanda I would have to say Johhny U ... but I never got to see him in person.

Manning just keeps on amazing me for the best quaterback of this century that's for sure. :D

Yeah, George was my first football hero. I started watching the Raiders in 1970 when I was 10 mainly because my Dad said George was this 42-year-old QB/kicker who kept saving their ass. I got to meet him in 1973 outside the Astrodome when the Raiders came to town and played the Oilers. He autographed my copy of his autobiography, Blanda Alive and Kicking. I also got Ken Stabler, Dave Casper, Freddy Biletnikof, John Madden, and Jim Otto's autographs in that book. :smug:

Bears win over Cowardly Lions...!
It was a close one, as it always seems to be when Da Bears visit the Motor Dome; 26-21, but as usual the Bears prevailed in the end. One more game left against the Packers at Soldier and hibernation until some unfortunate team visits the Lakeshore in January for round 2 of the playoffs!
I wasn't a big fan of Cedric Benson, first they compared him to Emmit Smith, a running back I have never been very fond of, (two reasons, he played most of his career behind a massive O-line which IMHO made him overrated, and most offensively, he had the audacity to brake the rushing record of the greatest football player ever, Walter Payton) then he held out for the entire training camp after the Bears drafted him, but now he's showing some terrific inside power and grit, plus he makes a nice changeup to Thomas Jones.

Oh, and Brian Griese played some today, putting together a nice 72 yard drive so even if Rex chokes hard in the playoffs or gets injured, the Bears are still very much a threat!

MERRY X-MAS!!! GO BEARS!!!!

fred8615 12-25-06 11:28 AM

New Orleans Saints absolutely humilated the Giants, 30-7!!

The Giants were 0-10 on 3rd down, and ran ZERO plays in Saints territory the entire game!! :o :o :o

With either a Dallas loss today, or a Saints win next Sunday, they lock up the #2 seed in NFC!!!
