Ruthenian capital is incorporated in to the iron grid. The last spike was driven on the 6. Oktober at the new Klausenburg station. Works will continue for another 6 months as the yard is completed and the nearby depot is connected. The mayor pointed out that this line will make Klausenburg the gateway to the east, the trading hub between Wallachia, Russia and Moldavia, making it as rich as the cities closer to Wien. He also issued a statement of condeming the opposition, saying that this railway is the proof The Empire cares about their eastern provinces and praised our Holy Emperor and his minister von Büol for the honor.

Rapid industrialization of Steiermark

The mineral wealth of Steiermark promted the most blessed Emperor to concentrate the Empires assets in making the province a steel powerhouse of Austria and Europe. The architect of the project, minister von Büol decided that the proximity of the heart of the Empire, ore sites and developed railway connections make it ideal for steel and steel products production.
Critisism was abound as some believe that such a slav province is not to be prioritized for industralisation. Von Büol responded by saying that it is more efficient to move products over the entire Europe than wagons of ore across the Empire.
Some of the inteligensia raised concern that such rapid growth will drive inflation up to which von Büol answered that the Empire has enough gold to fix such problems before they may cause damage.

Diplomatic tour of South America

The Imperial passenger ship Grossvenedig set sail today towards Columbia with a majority of the Austrian diplomatic core including von Büols personal assistant, count Richard Belcredi. The first stop of the tour is Caracas and should reach it by 20. Oktober.

Bountiful harvest of 1856

The summer of 1856 was sunny with frequent rain and the harvest is above average. Interior minister Baron Alexander von Bach boldly remarked that the average yield was three times than that of the previous years and with correct distribution and storage we should prevent famines in the next decade, no matter the future weather.
The Austrian Empire has been truly blessed

Vienna is going to keep an eye out on this British war, taking notes should the slavs make an uprising.... I mean, should we have a similar problem if we decide to play the colonial game

They say history is doomed to repeat itself. Have a look for yourself. First the Germans destroy Europe's economy in the 21st century, then in the 19th! Wait...what? :88)

The IMF bail out Prussia?

A rapid unification of Germanic states, so Germany can exist to bail out Prussia

This is clearly Hannover's fault, they've recently violently and without any reason attacked Prussia's commerce by seizing the assets of our Fishing industry we had build in their province for both our Nation's benefits. This will not go without consequences but so far they have repelled our diplomats at their door who demand an explanation.

Yeah, remember that nice industrialisation drive you have going on? The whole economic re-balancing shtick that everyone did to make their economies work better? Kiss it all goodbye (OK, OK, I am exaggerating a bit).

One good news, however, is that this will have a strong negative effect on Prussia's economy, so everyone happy, right? Everyone will now support Italian unification because of our excellent economic policies, right? :D

Panic and Crisis
If a Panic occurs, the country suffers from economic crisis and endures several adverse and debilitating effects. It loses Prestige, loses at least £1000 of Private Capital, gains a lot of Inflation, and its population gains militancy and loses a lot of Contentment.

Crisis Spreads and Effects
Once a country starts to suffer from the crisis, it checks each turn for the effects on its economy. These effects include having the population become more militant, loss of some Private Capital, and reductions in Inflation (this last one is a positive effect).

Recovering from Crisis
In each country in crisis, the crisis must last for a minimum of at least 6 months before there is a possibility that it will end. The crisis ends first where it began – in the country that triggered the Panic.

Hey, it is not Piedmont-Sardinia's problem that you were too stingy with your money. You should had invested more. Maybe a loan to my little kingdom to help in industrial construction would be in order, n'est pas? :O:

On a more serious note, @Betonov, have you been spending too much time on Polandball again?

Well, considering my guys were the ones buying an empty barrel of petrol for £75 then I think a little economic crisis might improve things. :dead:

I have a feeling that Slovenia would be behind it all when I saw a dead Croatia :har:
