Been using HydroJeb, my only issue is getting within 100m for it to take over, but that's just practice.

This is my KSS, Hab/control section, Escape/return module, and the R2D2 (Remote Robotic Docking Device) Space Tug on the side.

I tried using hydrojeb, found it caused way to many conflicts with mechjeb (was getting way to many weird results, like my ship spinning out of control).

In the end I found ORDA to be way better in just about every way (other than the fly by RCS thing, which theoretically is the only reason I still have hydrojeb on my mod list).

Mechjeb is your friend with rockets, it can even help a bit with planes too. Planes, though, are a royal pain in the butt to design right. But I wrote some tips about plane design a few pages back.

I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks to update my AAR as soon as I can find the time, and the mod makers stop updating everything all the time. I like updates but I am finding it hard to keep up when most of the mods I use keep getting updates every 3 weeks (20-30 mods updated on average).

Kinda the point of the game.

They should have a kerbalicide meter for a score.

Gargamel 02-27-13 11:58 PM

Yeah, I only use Hydro for the last 100m to offset any lag caused by my system / kraken.

Does ORDA do rendevous? Still having a hell of a time doing it manually.

Wait... Hydrojeb Im guessing is MEchJeb for docking? And ORDA is now updated to work with the new docking system?? Do it manually... so much more fun that way :)

Yes, if lag didnt cause each RCS thrust to move me 400m in manual mode.......

Wow. bummer man!

Hopefully youll get a well powerful enough rig soon to be able to enjoy it.

Gargamel 03-03-13 02:00 AM

If I can recover my Raid 5 (had 2/3 drives fail...sigh) I'll be back in a gaming rig soon. If not, I'm building from scratch, and going all out, Raid 0 SSD C drive, Raid 5 4 tb D Drive, Core i7, etc etc...

Cant even play SH3 on this laptop.....

ORDA can fly you in if you are in visual range (possibly from further out, I forget now), and mechjeb can do timed launches to put you close together

HydroJeb does a couple of things, mostly around RCS stuff. Some of it is automated, some of it is not. I only keep it around for the RCS throttle stuff now.

ORDA does a lot of things useful for space navigation in general, it also has a semi auto docking system (in addition to the fully auto one) that will just keep you correctly oriented with the target.

Me I use the low attraction docking port, which makes docking very tricky, you need to be exactly dead on (within a few milimeters and a couple of degrees rotation), no more getting sucked together from pretty far off. Lazor docking cam also helps a huge amount for that if I am doing it manually (and it doesn't need any special parts or targets attached, just docking ports), otherwise ORDA will nail it every time on auto.

As for doing it manually. Been there, done that countless times (and not just in this game). I find docking kind of tedious (as with most manual control tasks). Now I tend to play to do complex stuff, like station building, or colonizing. In my AAR I have been tending to do it more manual style.

New:

* A Native Linux version!
* Added visual (and sound) effects for re-entry and supersonic flight.
* Overhauled the Kerbal Face Expression System with new animations, which are also visible on EVA.
* Added wheel parts and modules for the construction of rovers.
* Added several new general purpose structural parts.
* New mesh for the launch pad area, now with 100% less launch tower.
* New mesh for the Runway, with sloping edges to drive on and off it.

Bug Fixes and Tweaks:

* The sun no longer shines from below on ships and scenery objects at night, or while in orbit over the dark side of a planet.
* Fixed the airspeed sound not looping properly, and adjusted the pitch range for it.
* Various minor balance tweaks.
* More texture variety added to probe cores, to better determine their positioning.
* Fixed a few objects that were on the wrong layer.
* Fixed an issue when comparing versions, which could result in false 'incompatible' warnings.
* Fixed an issue with velocity changes when resuming 1x time while on a hyperbolic orbit inside a rotating reference frame.

* Changed the debug toolbar key combo to ModifierKey+F12 (RShift+F12 by default)
* Changed the quick scenario loader key combo to ModifierKey+F10 (was Ctrl+F10 before)
* Removed an unused shader that caused the game to crash on Linux systems with AMD video drivers.

* The Alt modifier key is now remappable, and defaults to RightShift on Linux.
* Remapped all ocurrences of the Alt key to RightShift on Linux (as Alt is OS-reserved on most distros).
* Fixed double-clicks not working properly.

* Added a setting to tweak the mouse wheel axis scaling.
* Input Axes now support linear scaling.
* The Debug console can now also be toggled using the Grave and AltGr keys
The download servers are of course, jammed. :/\\!!
