You, me and a few million others I suspect.

Just looking at those results, Labour wins by 14% of the vote. What a poor showing for a strong hold.

How can anyone be elected by a minority vote. :nope:

This is not democracy this is a joke! I don't care what party it is when you see this sort of thing it shows our political system needs a massive shake up big time.

For it to be possible the lib dems would need to get some people elected.

Considering that their coalition with the tories has led to them losing their deposit lots of times in recent by-elections maybe they won't be in any position to join in parliament.:haha:

Well its about 15 months to the general election and this is what I think and hope will happen.

Labours polling level is remarkably consistent at the level of 39-40%. Since 2011 Labour has consistently polled between 37-40%. As long as Labour polls in the high 30%s, then, it is almost impossible for the Tories to win the General Election in 2015. They could not even win outright in 2010, against a very unpopular Labour Government, the Tories could only poll 36.9% of the total vote. Labour has an advantage in the voting system, which means that should both major parties poll the same percentage, in 2015, then Labour could poll almost enough seats to govern alone. Given the damage the Tory led coalition has done to the Welfare State and the NHS, then a Tory defeat, and a Lib-Dem vote that is collapsing to around 7-8%, will be richly deserved. Both parties have told lie after lie, Cameron said "no top down reform of the NHS", it was one of the first things the coalition inflicted on us. Clegg, and his party, promised to oppose any increase in tuition fees, almost the first thing he and his party did was to vote for a massive increase in tuition fees. Neither Clegg, nor Cameron, are fit people to run our society, let us hope that they disappear into the long grass in 2015.

David Cameron has been on the phone to Putin urging him not to invade Ukraine.

Not until our aircraft carrier is built, and had it's sea tests, and also re recruited the soldiers he's put on the dole.

I briefly read a few lines from a cover of a newspaper the other day and Clegg is preparing for another coalition government with the Tories! :o

Heres my EU elections prediction..

UKIP will do very well.
Mixed news for the big three.

Heres my Local elections prediction..

UKIP will do well on votes but how many councillors will they get is the big question.
Liberals will have a bad night at the cost to the Tories, Labour and UKIP.
Tories and Labour will have mixed news, over all I think Labour will increase their vote but by how much is the question. If they come under a 3% then they are in trouble at the general election, 3% would be good but a hung Parliament looks likely and above that is good but they must hold that for another year.

Jimbuna 03-05-14 01:10 PM

The biggest overall loser will be the LibDems.

I used a public toilet today and there was a handwritten sign on the top of the hand dryer

It read "Press button for a short speech from David Cameron"

Absolutely disgtaceful :nope:

Disability fund closure plan renewed

Quote:

The government is to press ahead with the closure of the Independent Living Fund, which provides support for more than 18,000 severely disabled people.

It is the second time it has attempted to close the £320m fund.

The Court of Appeal ruled against such a move last year, saying the government had not given proper consideration to issues raised by the Equality Act.

But Disabilities Minister Mike Penning said the coalition was planning to close the fund on 30 June next year.
