I was making joke since Cherenkov Radiation is from ions (?) traveling faster than light (in a medium). IE you are irradiated before you see it.

It doesn't work like that. Radiation only works on you if you're an angsty and awkward teenager. You must also fancy the hottest girl in your school, and have awkward sex dreams about your best friend. ;)

I predict Geno-Mariner coming in here shortly, quite the fan of nuclear technology, I'd never even heard of Cherenkov radiation before she sent me a link about it.
I don't recall seeing any such glows during my tour in our local reactor but that could be because it is a PWR...well, it is when it's working...it's not at the moment, it went offline in March for difficult repairs, and then the charcoal absorber containment building caught fire...
So basically, the reactor works...but everything around it keeps breaking down :haha:

Well, then at least one of your children is guaranteed to grow webshooters or turn into the Hulk ;)

I remember my first cardiac stress test. The next day I set off the radiation alarms at work because of my radioactive blood.... but no super powers.
