Just thought I would write a little intro. I played SHIII many years ago. IIRC it had some terrible DRM. I didn't invest a whole lot of time playing but it was a lot of fun!

Looking to get back into playing a bit with Silent Hunter V. There seems to be a ton of mods that can improve a lot on vanilla. :)

Played SHIII, took a break. Finally got a high-performance PC, and got SR5 via Steam.

So, far, not really liking it. Feels clunky, and feels like they didn't maximize the potential of what they made.

I dunno. Oh yeah, and bugs/crashes.

Bitte zum Melden,andy M.I have migrated from SH3,last played it about 3 years ago got a new puter so can now get into SH5!

A warm welcome Knottypine to the Subsim family. :subsim: Don't waste your time with vanilla. Make sure you are using TDW's Generic File Patcher for the Torpedo patches. :)

Hi Terragon.

What mods are you using?

All that money spent on the PC and you bought steam!

It's like buying a new TV but your aerials hanging off the roof.

Get rid of steam and get a dvd. Steam will cause you limitations as to what you can do.
