Keeping on defending ships from incoming missiles and drones is a never ending story. US and it's allied need to stop these in other ways. Best would be if they could prevent these from falling into the hand of the Houthis

British media speculate that U.S. and British troops will soon launch attacks on Houthi rebels in Yemen. Prime Minister Sunak tonight briefed his cabinet on "possible British and American attacks" on Houthi rebels, earlier today there were consultations with the British Security Council. According to Sky News, the cabinet will also brief opposition leader Starmer on this important decision. Sunak reportedly held consultations earlier today with President Sisi of Egypt, a key player in the region. The prime minister has informed Sisi that he will take action to defend free passage at sea and protect people on ships, Sunak's office said.

The Houthis vow that US and UK strikes on their positions in Yemen will not go without "punishment or retaliation"
The group pledges to continue support for Palestinians in Gaza and attacks on ships in the Red Sea heading for Israel. Overnight military strikes by air and sea targeted 16 Houthi positions including command centres, munitions depots and air defence systems. President Biden says the action will protect the free flow of international commerce. British PM Rishi Sunak says the strikes were "limited, necessary and proportionate action in self-defence" Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer backs the military action, but some opposition parties say Britain's parliament should be recalled to debate it. The Netherlands, Australia, Canada and Bahrain provided support as part of the mission, says Biden. |

The Iranian spy ship Behshad
Iranian spy ship is accused of providing targeting data BEHSHAD General Cargo Ship, IMO 9167289 The current position of BEHSHAD is at Red Sea reported 5 days ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to IRAN B.ABBAS, sailing at a speed of 2.7 knots and expected to arrive there on Jan 15, 18:00. The vessel BEHSHAD (IMO 9167289, MMSI 422036200) is a General Cargo Ship built in 1999 (25 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of Iran. Satellite tracking data analyzed by the AP on Thursday showed that an Iranian cargo vessel suspected of being a spying platform in the Red Sea had left the waterway. The data showed the Behshad had transited through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait into the Gulf of Aden. The Behshad has been in the Red Sea since 2021 off Eritrea’s Dahlak archipelago. It arrived there after Iran removed the Saviz, another suspected spy base in the Red Sea that had suffered damage in an attack that analysts attributed to Israel amid a wider shadow war of ship attacks in the region. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/12...3283159422.jpg https://photos.fleetmon.com/vessels/...929_Medium.jpg |
