So I will ask my friends across the pond...
You prefer the rainy foggy dank crap you get in winter? I lived in Washington state, and all it did all winter was rain and sleet, zero sun. Even when it didn't rain, it was cloudy, I understand why it is the suicide capital, I wanted to off myself!. Spoiled bastard here, I got sandy beaches, warm water, and alot of fake tanned "Jersey Shore show Wannabes" (all of which come from New York) to giggle at as you kick sand on the dumbass tourists blanket. It makes up for how bad they drive, I pray for September.:) I'd rather deal with Hurricane Sandy, and 14 days without power, than the "BENNNIES" |
Hard to tell what us Brits prefer seeing as how we can get all four seasons in a week.
Personally speaking I prefer warm to hot...if I want to get burned I go abroad. |

We get these storms in the winter time called Nor'easters, it is basically a winter hurricane that hugs the coast, 2 feet of snow, with nasty winds. I am the New Jersey welcoming comitee. We got fake Italian Americans from New York, and blizzards in the winter. I can never critisize Londonesque weather ;):salute: Bennies are bad ( for Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Newark, and New york) basically, some rich (N jersey, NYC, or long island) retard who only lives down here 2 and a half months a year, and are snooty beyond belief. Too poor for the Hamptons, but just as entitled. |

Is a BENNY a tourist? The seaside needs visitors to spend their money in the local shops, restaurants, bars, amusements, etc. Expect a lot of small towns and folk would suffer if the money stayed away in the summer. What annoys me is when the locals cannot even get on the beach because there are too many tourists clogging up the roads. Love them or hate them, they do provide jobs and help the economy.

I just can not believe it, the Daily Express so far has been spot on! They said a four week heat wave and so far two weeks and next week looks like another scorcher! If the fourth week is also a scorcher we will all have to bow down and worship the Daily Express weather section!

Someone, eventually, had to get it right!
I'd rather be cold than hot, my favourite climate was Kosovo's winter - touching -29°C on occasion, much preferable to working in 50°C in a dark tent (or vehicle) in the middle east! If you're cold it's easy to put another layer on, once you've stripped to next to knack-all there is nothing left bar water and air. |

But the Jersey shore is a more laid back area, and they bring their horrid accents, cut you off while at highway speed, and drunk driving with them. They are also very aggressive, and overly drunk, to the point shore towns have to hire extra police officers in the summer to deal with them. Does good for town revenue with fines, but the citizens and taxpayers have to deal with drunken louts, and too much traffic, in addition of paying for the summer police force. 91 on my porch right now, going to 95. My cat is sitting outside for 4 hours now, and loves it, crazy cat! He refuses to come in, and his fur is 90 percent black, so I know he is roasting. This heat spell has hit alot of America too. The mother...err bloody humidity is what bothers me. You sweat and become drenched, 80 plus degrees at night and I work outside... FML. ;) |
