Hello from FLA
Front Runner here. Long time simmer. Been playing subsim since C64 days.
SH3, SH4 and now SH5. Served on USS Tusk SS426 1969. My pic is aboard the cruiser down in SW FLA. It was cold that day, full foulies and 40 degrees F. Brrrrr. http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rontRunner.jpg |
Pythos reporting for duty.
I am an odd one. I am a goth, and the pic says it all. Don't judge a book by its cover. Like my name my look here is only for show. I am quite Boring actually. But I love Submarines, and Aircraft. I am a commercial pilot, instrument rated, working on the CFI. I am also an A&P. Airplanes are my life, but I also love music, and find beauty in those things most do not (accept for violent images for the most part, no beauty in that to me). I have been playing subsims since Silent Service on my Tandy 1000EX. I dropped out for a bit until Silent Hunter 2 One of my top ten favorite films is DAs Boot, followed closely by 20,000 leagues under the sea. Hunt for Red October is also up there. I am a heavy metal fan that also likes Japanese visual kei, and Symphonic Metal is my fave style of music. I am also a beginning musician and learning guitar, with ambitions to form a symphonic metal band with Visual Kei style. Before anyone asks, NO I DO NOT WORSHIP THE DEVIL. Forget all the media has said about Goths after Columbine. That was a load of crap. LOL. Since I mentioned my guitar playing, a friend thought it would be cool to post a pic she photoshoped of me with my axe. I rather like it. http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._1621469_n.jpgSo here it is. For those that may know, yes that is a Jeune Fille X. |
Hello folks , my name is Popescu Pompiliu Ion, I'm 17, I live in Romania in a town named Rosiorii de Vede , that is 100 km far from Bucharest.
I have been playing PC games since I was little, very little, my father had a very old PC , he didn't knew how to use it , it was one of those with MS-DOS,but my first good PC was bought in 2003 and the first games played were GTA:Vice City and Vietnam. :haha: I like to read a lot, I'm very interested in PC games and also in history , most of it is WW 2, especially subs :D, and I listen to classic music. I don't have a job, i'm at high school. Here are some pictures with me, the first is me in the school uniform and the second is me visiting London, , on Baker Street , at Sherlock Holmes Museum, the third is me with Bush(at Madam Tussaud's), the 4th is me at Windsor castle with my bodyguards :haha:,.Friday I will be going on a 7 day excursion to Tunisia with my father. http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/5702/dscf7853h.jpg http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/7383/p1010530.jpghttp://img97.imageshack.us/img97/8738/p1010442b.jpg |
Ahoy shipmates. I'm an old Silent Hunter player and modder making a return to the Subsim forums after a long absence. My last log-in on this forum was back in 2007, so here I am again, happy to be back and thankyou Neal for helping me recover my account.
I started off Subsimming way back in the day with Silent Hunter 2. I quickly moved on to Silent Hunter 3 when that was released, and ever since have been playing that with the excellent GWX expansion, which used some of the aircraft skins I created for SH3. I gave Silent Hunter 4 a complete miss since my PC at the time wouldn't have been able to run the game anyway. So now I'm back with a bigger, beefier PC and a copy of Silent Hunter 5, which I'm hopeful can become a great game with a bit of tweaking and modding. I will admit I've have been having a few initial difficulties with SH5 (Only acquired it two days ago and haven't yet got out of the Kiel Canal) but those worries belong in a different thread. I've always been a fan of the tactical/strategy war game, particularly those with a naval setting. I've been a dedicated Combat Flight Simmer in the past and for a long time also been addicted to the 'Total War' series of games, especially Empire and Napoleon which I've been playing rather a lot of lately. Great to be back and I look forward to seeing what the community can turn SH5 into. If anything like the amount of work and expertise goes into modding SH5 that went into GWX, then it definitely has the potential to be amazing. |
Hello all,
I am new to this community and hope to make some contributions along with the fabulous modders here on subsim.com. I'm 25 and a commercial pilot living in the Chicago area. On the side I am a dub and reggae musician and producer (Dub Dragoon dub system - thought SUBdragoon would be a good name for this place :03:). I'm an active member in the IL2-1946 communities over at AllAircraftArcade and SAS1946 and do simartwork (skins, screenshots, and videos). I also do sountracks and scores to be used with sim films. I'm a WW2-fanatic and find a good way to see it is through a good sim like IL2 or SH, especially with the great modders that contribute to these games. Flying is my main cup-of-tea and my life, but I've always thought if I wasn't a pilot, I'd be a submarine commander. I've played SH3 for about 5 years, took some time off, and with a recent visit to see the U-505 in Chicago (only Type IXc existing in world), I've regained interest in the series. I recently got a copy of SH5, and like everyone else, I'm a little disappointed, but know that communities like these can do a lot to fix the screwups of a bad release. So far, the mods are doing wonders to improve this one. I hope to contribute what I can and am happy to be here. Cheers, Jason, the sub dragoon :arrgh!: |

Hi all.
Little fun I had in China a few years back performing for a euroamerican arts fest. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...b/DCP_2743.jpg Just a pose for the camera. It was hard to get the guy to stop smiling. :D I work as a Clinical Engineer for a health system and am also a semi-serious musician in my spare time playing drums for a celtic-rock band called Avalon Rising mainly. www.flowinglass.com Here's my pet car. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...b/DCP_1846.jpg Other interests are balsa models and subsims of course. Oh, and I reside in San Rafael, CA and have had close association with Mare Island all my life, ergo the love of the boats. Cheers |
I think you might have my old Spitfire. Sure looks like it. I'm originally from the SF. I got mine when I was 18. It was a 67 BRG. But I had the 69 bumper put on it. Wish I had never sold it. That and my 64 Alpa Veloce.
This is my current pet and unlike Spite Fire always runs but lacks the smell ad luster of a Brit Sports car. Those were the days. Watching re-runs of the Prisoner and driving fast my Spite. You lucky dog. BT spent 90 % of my time in your town in those days. My dad lived over there when he worked at Mare Island. He was an engineer and worked on the subs. Damn nice car. Makes me drool! Anyway the Spitfire is a '65 that used to be white when new, however it was imported to SF when new. |
Then our Dads might have known each other. My dad worked there up to 64 but was killed in a car accident on the way to work. His name was Tom Neill. He was vice president of Hornbine Engineering. He use to take me out there and I can still see in my mind the line up of Fleet boats in moth balls.
Small world. His house was in Teralinda. Steve |
Sorry to hear about your Dad. That must have been on Hwy 37 well before the median wall was put up. I'll ask Dad if he remembers, but he's pretty old these days and his memory isn't to good. And yes! The great big pile of about forty fleet boats was cool. Wish it was still there now.

I preordered SH5 , then joined the resistance and canceled the preorder , then bought SH5 the day it was released . The difference between a naysayer and a concerned customer is actually dropping the $50. The developers deserve support - no money, no honey.
