2nd Practice for Montreal and the Hondas are at the bottom. Shame I hope they do better tomorrow.

I fear there will be a mess today in Montreal, with reports (again) that the track surface is breaking up in several places. This is not the first time ... you'd think they'd be able to fix it properly.

Great race and result for Kubica and BMW. An etertaining race.

Konovalov 06-09-08 05:10 AM

Smug Lewis got what he deserved. No points and a 10 grid starting penalty for France. Happy days.

Robert Kubica got a deserved win. Robert please put that cap on quick. The sweaty comb-over look is bad. Actually Kubica kind of looks like a comedy character from Australia named Norman Gunston who was big in the 70's/80's. This is the guy I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9hZ7kjgFh4

XabbaRus 06-09-08 05:35 AM

That's a bit harsh. I don't think Lewis is any more smug than MS or Nigel Mansel for that matter.

It was a screw up, **** happens. Good to see Kubica get a win though. I always liked Sauber and glad to see BMW are actually going somewhere unlike a couple of Japanese car companies who can't seem to make a fast car.

Harsh but true in my view. And yes Schumi was also a smug so and so. However Michael Schumacher wasn't handed a championship winning car in his first season in F1 just as Mansel wasn't or Kimi, or Alonso, or Massa for that matter. They had to bust their balls in F1 to get to the top. My beef is that the kid didn't start F1 in a lower ranked team to do his F1 apprenticeship for a year before say being brought into a top team such as McLaren or Ferrari. Don't get me wrong. Lewis is a massive talent with undoubted speed and racecraft and he has everything going for him to be a World Champion.

Yep. Toyota were very lucky to get points considering their cars were mobile roadblocks. Both drivers fastest laps were in the bottom half dozen in the field. Toyota have been a joke since coming into F1 and it looks like Red Bull, Williams and Renault are well in front of them now.

On another point I can't wait for all this aero rubbish to go next year. Then we might actually have some passing. You know you have problems in F1 when Massa has trouble getting past a Toyota which is over a second a lap slower. This dirty air business has almost ruined F1. :damn:

XabbaRus 06-09-08 06:06 AM

I hear what you are saying but MM took a new approach with Lewis bringing him through from karting to F1, kind of a driver development programme.

I hope Honda do better as I quite like Jenson.
One thing that bugs me is how some people have nothing good to say about Lewis even when he does well.....

At least the WDC is wide open.

HunterICX 06-09-08 06:27 AM

Glad to seen something different a BMW on the first place

got a bit tired of the Ferrari & Mclaren 1-2's
especially when they run away from the rest turning the whole race into a merry-go-around lasting 2 hours :shifty:

Amazing performance by the Hamilton family :D

They have wrecked a Porsche, a Ferrari and a McLaren in less than a week :rotfl: Lamborghini drivers, beware....you might be next!

Now I understand what Lewis was talking about when he said he dreamt about breaking all previous records

Konovalov 06-09-08 11:35 AM

Oh the irony of the father son accidents. Lewis did an interview with British broadcaster who covers F1, ITV and he said that he was trying to work out how his Dad could crash a supercar at only 30mph. Ooops. What does Lewis go and do. Crash a car at 30mph in the pits. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm trying to work out which crash is worse. Lewis or Hamilton Snr. The Carrera GT is renowned to be quite a difficult car to drive even in experienced hands. Daddy should just stick with a Mercedes A class and let his son race.

bert8for3 06-09-08 11:46 AM

Gotta think that Nick Heidfeld and Mario Theissen are no longer on speaking terms. As NH came into the little room behind the podium entrance MT counldn't even bring himself to shake his hand for coming in second. Even if NH is having a lacklustre season so far, he deserves better imho.

XabbaRus 06-09-08 01:22 PM

I can't see why Mario Theissen would be upset. NH was told to let RK through. Although not explicityly said from what people have been saying it looks like it was the case.

Anyway on the bright side we have 4 guys who could be WDC. this is turning out to be way better than last year even if it is due to accidents.

nikimcbee 06-09-08 03:17 PM

Wow, I watched my first Formula 1 race (the one the Polish guy won). Pretty exciting stuff. I liked the guy that spun out and hit the wall, then backs up onto the race track, narrowly missing a race car:o .

This is way better than nascar (no, I dont watch nascar).
