Six children die of hypothermia amid freezing conditions in Gaza
The deaths come amid a harsh cold snap in Gaza and Israel’s blocking of shelter from entering the enclave. Dr Saeed Salah, medical director of the Friends of the Patient Charitable Hospital in Gaza City, said on Tuesday that three NEWBORNS – aged between one and two days – died shortly after being admitted. Two more children also succumbed on Tuesday morning, with a sixth death reported in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza. Gaza’s civil defence agency also confirmed recording the deaths of six NEWBORNS due to the severe cold wave and lack of heating over the past week. Doctors confirmed that these NEWBORN BABIES arrived to the hospital not suffering from any particular diseases. The deaths of the children come as Israel continues to block the entry of temporary housing into Gaza, despite agreeing to allow it under the terms of the ceasefire agreement. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also raised alarm over escalating attacks on healthcare facilities in the occupied West Bank. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/...itions-in-gaza |

Normally I distinguish between determination and sadism, but with the Hamas scum I have certainly begun to think in sadistic terms. I do not feel the slightest bit of compassion for them, nor for anyone who supports this kind of horror and excuses it, relativises it, defends it. Not the slightest bit. I once personally dealt with torture victims from the Balkan wars, and that already was bad. Nothing worse there is than to look into a pair of eyes - may it be human or animal -, and seeing nothing in there, just a black empty abyss and no ground at the bottom. That does something with you, and its nothing good. Sucks up your trust in life and that there is a sense in existence that we just do not know. But yes, it makes you stronger in a way, more determined, harder. At the cost of becoming more bitter. Or you sooner or later lose yourself, if you stay too long, some helping people have this happening to them, too, they get buried under their experiences and empathy. All in all the loss is higher than the gain. Thats why most helpers dont do this sort of work for too long, I guess. For me, it were just weeks. That was enough. Empathy is good, but you should always keep it limited and under tight control. Reason is needed, too. And sometimes its more important than just empathy. |
