Initially VERY disappointed with S5. It just felt so half finished and buggy, but putting a few mods and it improves it by 500% already ;)

Old Silent Hunter / Aces of the Deep / Silent Service player ;)

Hi everyone,

my name is Sebastian, im from beautiful Ruhr-Area in Germany, 39 Years old and father of a woderful 3 Year old son.
I'm with silent Hunter since SHII. In SHIII i did some small GFX mods (Crew texture, coloured logbooks etc.), never played SHIV and im now back with SHV because the community did such a superb work with all this beautiful mods they create.

currently im trying to change status from "only reader" to "active" on this forum:yeah:

Hello you old sea dogs,
My name is Don and played SH back when it was on DOS and they gave you a grid map to hunt your targets. I purchased and played SH III but was not impressed. Now, Looking at what this group has done to “fix” another company’s less-than-good game has given me hope that maybe this game will work out.
About me… I am old enough to remember a time BEFORE MTV, Commodore 64 was my first computer, have flown in a B52, met my wife (of 31 years) in Texas. Live in Atlanta GA. Work for SAP (a German company) and have just finished my “Man Cave”, the wife said I could have one. Have 2 kids, one in College and then there is Michelle my Special one. And of course there’s Max my GSD from Germany, also known as the Bad Ass of the house.
So I just purchased the game via Steam, and have read in here that some of the patches and mods will not work with a Steam game. There was 101 pages to that thread, is that still the case?

NAKED

Greetings NAKEDGIJOE

Velkommen to der ubootwaffe; Have just one getting a masters, a bad ass Burmese cat aka Dark Lord of the HISS, and a man cave MY wife said I could have(in between chores). Still play SHII, Panzer Elite and Destroyer Command on the old Windows 98 machine. Don't know about modding the steam game but the mod savants of subsim ARE here: the Dark Wraith, Trevally and Sober to name a few. 'If there's a problem discernible, there's a solution feasible' with these guys... give or take a bug or two! Of course if they can help with nose radar, DFing, Enigma and yarn in the pressure hull welds...:Kaleun_Salute: we'll win the war before Christmas! Good luck Kaleun!
