Jul 28, -42 at 0205 hours the U-201 was lost with all hands in the BE sector.
She was just diving after recharging her batteries in heavy fog when an Destroyer emerged from the fog and bombed Weis with crew to submariners heaven. This is the last picture, taken when she left U-463 Jul 10īth. http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/6120/u201lostzo5.jpg |
Intercepted a heavily escorted convoy SW of Scapa. Stinking miserable weather, 300 meters visibility. Merchies going in opposite direction passing in perfect line 10-20 meters to one side. A large freighter loomed 360 degrees on the scope. Had just enough time to lower scope before he hit conning tower. Fired magnetic pistol torp from stern tube and dove to 150 meters. Torpedo hit but did not sink the ship. After escorts and convoy were gone, surfaced, to find the freighter sitting dead in the water.
Here's the pic of the coup de gras. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/fsscr097.jpg :arrgh!: :arrgh!: :arrgh!: |
Ever wonder what happend to the ships you sink?
Is the bottom flat or what? Well here it show how it can look :) This ship landed on a shelf at aprox 200 meters depth. Then it started to slowly slide down. http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/9836/bottom1mj2.jpg And then she slided down. And dissapered in the depth. That slide took the boat from 200 meters depth to over 1000. I didnt follow her further down so i just watched the slide untill she vanished :) http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/2197/bottom2ui3.jpg |

A short story,...
A short story of a double victory and escape...
I hit this tanker and it sunk quickly, the bow slipping under first. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...y1/Story-1.jpg The destroyer closest to the action found me but I opened up the engines and shot at him. Direct hit! These are his dying throwes, the whole thing went up spectacularly well, eventually the destroyer diving like the very u-boat that hit him. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...y1/Story-2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...y1/Story-3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...y1/Story-4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...y1/Story-5.jpg |

> 1. How do you take away the console?
The full stop key on the numeric keypad. > 2. How do I change the format to...what is it....JPG? There's some good answers in the pages of this topic. I use Adobe Photoshop which is excellent but try searching on tucows.com too |
