Been playing with GWX fo a while now and acidently something jumped into my mind - I downloaded only the original files and no patches, and I think I'm running GWX 1.02.. how can I determine WHICH version I have?
|
On the main loading screen where it shows the submerged U-boat shooting a torpedo with the wolfs head imposed there too...
in the bottom right hand corner where it says "EXPANSION" in red... there should also be a number in white that says 1.02 or 1.03 if there is no number there at all, you are still on GWX 1.00 |
I'm with bad luck, I have replaced the splash screens :damn:
EDIT: Ahh, I had a backup copy of the old, thanks a lot Penelope. EDIT2: And I was on 1.00 :D |
Just in case you need the 1.03 patch http://files.filefront.com/GWX103exe.../fileinfo.html
First though roll back commander, then disable all mods with JSGME and then run the 1.03 patch. This will bring your GWX completely up to date. |
Only if you bollocks it up and need an extra or new install
1.Uninstall SH3 via Windows' "Add/Remove programs" 2. Open Windows Explorer and: - *delete* the folder where you had installed SH3 - *delete* the \My Documents\SH3 folder 3. Reinstall SH3 4. If your SH3 did not come with patch v1.4b already included, install patch v1.4b. Ensure you install the patch that corresponds to your copy of SH3 (Download/DVD/EMEA/US) 5. OPTIONAL: Copy and paste this "clean" install as a backup to avoid the need to follow steps 1-3 if your game becomes corrupt in future 6. Download into the SAME folder GWX.exe and the five .bin files. While there grab the v1.03 patch 7. Run GWX.exe and follow the installation prompts 8. Run GWX103.exe and follow the installation prompts 9. SH3 COMMANDER USERS: Download the GWX 1.02+ Cfg files for SH3 Commander and unzip the contents DIRECTLY into your SH3 Commander\Cfg folder. Install of Multiple Versions 1)Complete a fresh install of SH3 + 1.4b as normal. 2)Create a copy of the program folder & rename as required. 3)Install your mod of choice to the renamed version. 4)Create and rename shortcuts as required. 5)Use MultiSH3 to create separate save locations for each install. SH3 Commander & Multiple Installs It is recommended to have a separate install of Commander for each different install of SH3. 1)Install SH3Commander and rename the program folder to suit. 2)Rename each SH3Cmdr shortcut as required. 3)You will need to use the l: switch to point SH3Cmdr to the right installation. Here's an example of the l: switch for dual installs, just tailor it to fit..... Right click on the SH3Cmdr shortcut & choose properties. Target "C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander-GWX\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent HunterIII-GWX" Start in "C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander-GWX" |
Hi everyone
I read about how great this mod is after trying out SH4 so I got SH3 and d/l this mod. I've got all 5 files but I'm having problems with their integrity. I must have d/l some of them 3 times now, and the .mdf file in the first post isn't working too well but I think files GWX-1.bin GWX-3.bin GWX-4.bin are still corrupted. They are the correct size, they just don't work. I got them from http://isaf.us/gwx/ Is there any way to do a crc check or something and patch them up? |
yes you can d/l Md5 here it will verify the bin

Welcome Buglepong.
If after using the MD5 Mate & the MD5 Hash file you still find that your files are coming back as corrupt, please try a different mirror. I know it's a PITA but sometimes a different mirror will help. The MD5 Mate will seem to lock up when conducting the check but it is still working. Keep in touch, we will help you through this. All the mirros are listed on the first page of this thread. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=102096 Keep scrolling down for further mirror sites. |
wow that was quick :D, thanks for helping me out

I could possibly upload the GWX 1.03 to my filefront account and make it available. Do you all want me to give this a try?
|
Thanks Racerboy, however, we've got loads of links for GWX files kept at FileFront.
The problem with FileFront that we run into most often is their "auto-deletion queue." The file host has to go in periodically and pull the files out of the deletion queue. Hosts are supposed to have 30 days... but often this is not the case. FileFront is often a pig. Eventually, what I'd like to see is a shift away from them... to other filehosts. |
