Once you get used to the control positions...you will never go back...at least that is how I am about it in many ways... |
Actually, although I didn't announce it here, I found a nice way to do a redlight on the navmap about a week ago, in such a way that it doesn't bug me too much and the blue "depth chart" tool will still work even at night. It'll be included in the 1.1.5 release, along with a nomograph and other minor tweaks that I've made while playing with the mod.
|
Will that be a "draggable" nomo ?
|
No... I was planning on using Wazoo's :hmm:
You want it draggable? |
Well, Wazzoo provides various kinds of nomos.
Vertical, horizontal(small, large, draggable). I tried them all but from my point of view the draggable one is best, because you can drag it simply away when its not used. http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/#...omograph%20Mod I have uploaded the nomos to provide them on my helpthread, you can get them there. http://rs44.rapidshare.com/files/117...ooNomoMods.zip |
Thanks for the info and links
I was referring to the one which is downloadable in subsim's download section (horizontal, non-draggable). It just becomes part of the navmap "background" and - speaking as a player who doesn't use a nomograph - doesn't really interfere with anything. I'm not necessarily objecting to the idea of a draggable one, just thinking out loud here: I'm concerned that having too many draggable things will somewhat negate the benefit of having any draggable things at all, and since the "background" nomograph is IMO both useful to those who want it and unobstrusive for those who don't, I'm not seeing the draggable option as the best :hmm: |
I missed having a nomograph, so have adapted a couple of Wazoo's to OLC's Mod. I started off with a large horizontal, fixed one along the bottom of the chart. At the moment I'm using a smaller vertical fixed nomograph, but don't find it as easy to read, hence it is not as accurate as the larger one.
Ideally the larger, horizontal nomograph would be ideal, if it were draggable, but I understand the concerns about having too many things cluttering up the chart. |
I would prefer the bigger one as well.
One advantage of the draggable one is that the size can be adjusted, because it is a separate graphic overlay. The fixed ones are part of the screen. But we will take the nomo you give us. :) |
That's great news onelifecrisis. I did notice a problem with the ship recognition book and don't know if it's been mentioned before (too lazy at this moment to go through whole post). I tried to access the merchant part of the book and couldn't. I couldn't access any other country for that matter too. Thought you should know.

:DI like this mod!! It makes me feel like a mathamatical Genius!:rotfl:Even if I can't spell either of those words.:rotfl:Excellent Work!!
|
Sorry for the late reply, I've had some PC troubles. :(
All sorted now. About the nomograph... well as I said I won't be using it, and I don't feel that stronly one way or another how it gets implemented, so if you guys would prefer a draggable one I'll do a draggable one. That said, the first implementation (1.1.5) might be a non-draggable one just to save some time (I had to rebuild my PC and I lost a bit of work that I'd done on the mod) with a draggable one coming in 1.1.6. Hope this is OK. OLC |

I've never seen that. Anyone else had this problem? I'm still re-installing stuff right now but as soon as I've got SH3 up and running again I'll check this. |

I think I haven't thanked you enough OLC. This is imo the greatest nonsuper-mod ever to grace SH3 community. We THANK YOU again. Now I always smile whenever I hit ships:rock: and along with that the release of endorphin. This mod drugs me out:rotfl: and it's freeeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeee. Now I believe the notion the best things in life are free. |

Question is, which one? :D  :smug: :hmm: Ah, here we go... :sunny: lol |

Although I haven't yet installed this interface mod must have took so much effort to make, I can imagine. I'm speechless but to prise. Thank you so much for the work.
For the nomograph I'd say non-draggable is to go for with more people. But I think if it's not that needed any longer because of the other tools given now, I'd say not included it so we can have clear map. I've been the NYGM user so I need to see if I can install the mod over. I think I'll install GWX2.0 when it's released and I'm sure the compatible version of this mod will follow shortly :know: Anyway, this is a super interface mod since FLB sale's work so thanks again!:up: |
Having read this post i changed my opinon to no.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...99&postcount=1 With this fine paper nomograph there is no need to integrate one in the game. |
Many thanks to Friedl9te for the link to the paper nomograph.
I would second his opinion that this works better than any in-game one, draggable or not - much quicker to use & more accurate. I'm going to laminate mine, I think & give it a very pale blue background & a nice Kriegsmarine emblem in the corner & perhaps I'm getting a bit too excited about this......Too many cups of coffee, maybe. Hope the PC's recovered from the rebuild, OLC - Looking forward to the next version of the 'greatest nonsuper-mod ever' (Nice one, Castout). Perhaps you should rename your GUI, OLC's GNME Mod.:hmm:You can never have too many acronyms IMHO.:yep: Or too many smilies.;) |
