Yup. Along with 'blood rain'! Which isn't quite what it sounds like, so the northerners don't get free black pudding ingredients, unfortunately. Apparently it's dust from the Sahara, washed out in the downpour. Which makes me wonder whether the sore throat I've had for the last few days is down to the same thing. I should probably complain to the Algerian embassy or something...

We just had the weather break at last on The Wash, with a thunderstorm rumbling past either side of us (as usually happens here) and coming from the south. Cooler now, at last.

I know it's not the UK, but in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, it is currently 105 degrees F, or 40.56 degrees C. In the part of town where I live it's a cool 98F, or 36.67C.

Of course that's data from local home weather stations, which may or may not be accurate, and if so are only for that specific location. According to the National Weather Bureau it's only 94/34 in Salt Lake City, while in Needles, California, which is in Death Valley, it's currently 111/43.9. :dead:

One thing Steve you have dry heat which is better to cope with. Poor old UK has moist heat that knocks you for six, some of my friends said last weekend bring it on thumbing it up now they are some what cranky with lack of sleep and moaning how hot it is.

One cooler day here in the low 70's but looks like its on the rise again. Only checked Fri/Sat don't know about Sunday yet.

Plenty of heavy showers here but still hot.

That's very true. Back in the '80s, when I was in the tourist business, I once had a visitor ask how hot it was. I replied that I wasn't sure, but I had just seen a sign in front of a bank claiming it was 101 degrees, but that the humidity was likely only around 15%. He said "Really? I'm from Georgia, and when it's 80 and 80 there it feels a lot worse than this!"

Looks like another three day hot spell here but not as hot. Feels real muggy which I do not like, next week looks a little cooler and with luck fresher.

Dry bright muggy day here today.

Very hot here wall to wall sunshine and very muggy today.

No adverse weather in Manchester so England keep piling on the runs against Pakistan :sunny:

Another hot and muggy day here with a slight dip in temperatures due to it being cloudy.

A little rain in Manchester but not enough to stop what will be the inevitable 'follow on'.
