I seem to recall exchanging posts with you during said session.

As for the final session I was at my mums for half of it and the remainder I was in the front lounge biting my fingers down to the stumps (orders from SWMBO "No drinking till after tea")

Hats off to Haddin and Anderson. Both great competitors.

Don't mind losing having gotten so close. Shows that the poms are beatable. They certainly will be if we can get some batting starts in the upper order.

So your expecting another century from a tailender then?

What an incredible match! Poms deserved the win but hell, it was satifying to see such a close finish! It's series on and our boys have shown they've got some ticker; whether its a debutant or the old(ish) gaurd.

Clarkes stock rating went up for me after his post match interview with Atherton....he accepted DRS was equally fair on both sides and admitted his use of said system was poor at best (2 out of 9 correct).

looking forward to the second test on Thursday and hopefully a not so tense climax.

Bloody marvellous :D but I was a nervous wreck at work checking my mobile every 2 bloody minutes and when the Cons got below 20 I did fear the worst, and I must congratulate the Cons on putting up such a brave fight :yep: I hope the other 4 tests are just as entertaining.
And now to watch the highlights.

Maybe the Cons should turn their batting order upside down :haha:

Clarke needs to polish up his selection skills on DRS first.

Aye that. The selection of when to take the new ball and all.

It was a thrilling finish and could have gone either way. Sets up a great battle at Lords and its always good to see the poms getting nervous even if they do win.:O:

I reckon Cowan will get the chop with probably Khawaja coming in at 3 or 4. Not that I think it will make much difference if they don't get a settled start. Hope the entertaining cricket continues as despite the loss, I really enjoyed large parts of this match.

I think Finn will bite the dust as well, or will we keep a winning team :hmm2:

No changes to the team so lucky Finn and I expect a lot more from Root and Trott.

Didn't work for Yorkshire in the T20 the other night against mighty Durham :D

Some talk in the papers about Australia possibly dropping a batsman and adding a 5th bowler. Might mean we score more runs.:D

Not knowing the team like you do I don't know who would be dropped but I consider Finn to be a very lucky man in keeping his place.

Saw it on sky sports news this morning that boxer David Warner could play in the 3rd test.

Jimbuna 07-16-13 08:38 AM

Could well be but I don't see either of the current openers making way for him especially after that second innings performance by them both.

Perhaps, with a bit more effort, Root and Trott could produce truffles? :D
