SPOILERS

Okay, what the **** happened to the third act? Did they run out of money? Did they outsource it? Did the writers all die in a tragic skydiving trip? What the hell?

The first two thirds of the game build up this whole anticipation of Adam re-uniting with Megan, finding out about his DNA being used, finding out who the conspirators are and what their goal is and what Sarif knows and doesn't know, and how Darrow and Taggart and that TYM CEO are involved...

...and then Act 3 turns up and all of that goes out the window. Adam doesn't bat an eyelid when he learns that his DNA has been used, Megan says a dozen words then sends him off to Panchyplace and jumps in a chopper, to which Adam just says "we still need to talk" (they never do). Adam then briefly sees TYM CEO girl before jumping into a rocket that appears to have been designed just for the purpose of getting one person to the antarctic very quickly. Once there he finds Darrow has gone mad and he has to fight his way through zombies to get to... TYM CEO girl!? I guess she had a rocket too? She plugs herself into a machine so that she can do... something... Jensen kills the machine and her, then meets... Eliza!? WTF? Then you make a completely inconsequential choice and the game ends.

WHAT. THE. ****?

So what was the conspiracy? What were the illuminati trying to do? Was Darrow one of them? Did he go rogue? Was TYM girl in on it? Was Megan? That last one was a joke... I think.

It's annoying when a story gets you interested then ****s on your face.

Edit:
And about Eliza...
Was she built by the illuminati? If so, why did she help Jensen? And why did she then make up news about Sarif Industries which caused riots? She did make that up, right? Or did the illuminati order her to broadcast that stuff? And either way, what the hell was the point?

This should help:

I saw Eliza as an Illuminati prototype to Helios/Icarus

Cool, thanks. But...

Quote:

Sarif's refusal to cooperate triggers the beginnings of the conspiracy, meant to end with TYM taking control of Sarif Industries.
Which sorta makes sense, but then...

The Illuminati also attack the very idea of augmentation through Picus TV.
But TYM is an augmentation company. They're kinda shooting themselves in the foot aren't they?

And while I'm still sort of in rant mode...

Is it just me or are the endings all crap? Your options are:
1) Convince the world to go back to walking around wearing just a fig leaf (dumb).
2) Convince the world that Taggart is an arse (I'm really not sure what this is meant to achieve).
3) Commit suicide so nobody finds out anything and the Illuminati carry on with business as usual. Yeah, really.

I gather there is a fourth option if you can be bothered to find Taggart at the end, but I didn't, and somehow I have the strong feeling that I'm not missing much.

Why wasn't this an option?

5) Tell Eliza to tell the world that she's been bull****ting them for years.

Hands On: DXHR: The Missing Link
Quote:

I am not sure I want to say much more, because I’ll just end up walking all over this fragment of game. So two observations to close: there’s an attempt to address the boss battle issue toward the end of this, with the player able to use a number of routes to overcome the challenge. It’s not perfect, but it is better. Lastly, I think you’ll get through this in about four hours, and it’s certainly not a vital addition to the tale of Adam Jensen. I couldn’t help enjoying it, of course, because it’s more DXHR.

So, as in Deus Ex, so in life, choose where to spend the points you earned…
Weighs in at $15,-. Bit much for what it offers imho.

Late starter in this game just bought it the other day and really enjoying playing it, probably the best rpg shooter Ive played in a long time.

Only issue I had was the nvidia drivers were 285.62. Game would give me an error after the first play through introduction when you die and then ctd with my video card is not good enough to play the game! not exact words but that's what it meant, so I update to 196.10 drivers and the game runs smooth with no errors.

Great game!
