This will be old news to most: A quick way of getting a sniper rifle in the start.
Go out of the main gate of Megaton and turn left, following the wall of the city around to the back. There are a few Giant moles so kill them. There is a large rock with a big branch sticking out behind it. Click that and inside is a Sniper Rifle, some ammo and a stealthboy which if sold will net you some nice Caps. |
I'll take a look at GECK over the weekend, though i dunno if I'm gona mess with the skills much, more likely I'm going to tweak the weapons and armor (add some new stuff like a 5.56 bolt action rifle, maybe a semi auto rifle or 2, a lower caliber sniper rifle, maybe some armor changes), ill also probably cut back on how fast stuff wears out and even it out some. Most of what I would do would be code changes though since im not a modeler. Once some serious mods come out i'll probably roll them together with my own changes.
You know I gotta say I never much bothered with the sniper rifle, ammo is too expensive and uncommon. I've got both kinds "at home" (the generic and the unique) but I never bother with them, prefering ol' painless instead (cheap common ammo, comperable damage, low wear). |
So, I just finished the Fallout 3 DLC titled "Operation Anchorage" . Well, it was pretty much disappointing to be honest. There's not much to do, it was over way too quickly and since my character was already level 20 , it was a cinch.
The only good thing about it was the beautiful Alaskan scenery and the ability to select and lead a squad of soldiers on some missions. Believe me, if this wasn't an expansion to Fallout 3, it might have been easily mistaken for Half-Life 2. The rewards weren't that good either. Oh well... maybe Bethesda will do better with the next DLC. |

Bringing up an older thread because I got the GOTY edition for Fallout 3. This game is very very cool to play. What a cool concept put to a game environment. For folks like me who like adventure type games this is a must have.
However, I hate the friggin feral ghouls in the sewers/subways. |
Wait till you meet the super mutants :D
|
I did met those nasty buggers also. I hate walking the sewers and tunnels. You hear the nasty dwellers around the corner. If you have a active imagination like me and your mind wanders like mine this game plays tricks on you. I do like the sneek attack and the one head shot on those nasty sewer dwellers. The Super Duper mart was a cool place to investigate. I have made it to the Falls Church Metro. I have a lot more to investigate. I can see playing this game for months on end.

If you nuke Megaton, then help the "friendly" ghouls massacre tenpenny tower (get into the basement out back, and blow up a generator to open the door), the leader gives you a "ghoul mask".
When you wear this, the ferals won't touch you. |
Thanks for the tip! No more though, I want to find them myself. Right now I'm playing a good character. My second go around I will play a very bad character. :D

*oh and mines, lots of mines. :yep: |
The mods for this game are plentiful and look to be outstanding. I will continue with vanilla then try one of the very large packs offered.

Did you find Dogmeat yet?
