My bet's on the famed "lost" SH: Silent Hunter 3.5 -- Milk Cow! The rigors of keeping station! The tension of resupplying fighting boats! The pride of knowing "job well done"!

I wouldn't mind having a Seawolf sequel. Was my first naval sim back in the day, drew me into playing sims.

God... I hate re-surfacing this old post... but since I'm new to the community and never heard the answer to the thread's original question, I guess I'm curious...

But, I would like to put in my two cents about a Sub Sim that I'd love to see with SH4 type graphics and sounds...

688 Attack Sub for the PC by John W. Ratcliff (Electronic Arts)

I remember I had a patch that came with the game... and I'm not talking a patch you install to update the game... it was a real patch you could sew onto a jacket/shirt/etc... :sunny:

But, I remember shortly after (more like 9 years later), 688i Hunter/Killer came out, and I loved that game... there still is no game anywhere close that has the immersive environment that this game provided. I loved sitting at the Sonar station and just listening for contacts... That was what made me join the Navy and want to become a Sonar technician, but alas, I wasn't/am not a U.S. Citizen, and so I became a FMF Corpsman... heh... either way... I loved what I did.

Anyways... it'd be great to see a more up to date 688i or maybe even a Akula Simulator with the sounds and graphics of SH4.

I'd love to see biological contacts again... really being able to hear Torpedo tube doors opening... etc... that'd be great.

You will be sucked into a 486 computer, and must fight for survival on the high seas in Sid Meyer's Silent Service. When you are sunk, you really are sunk!:arrgh!:

There a sequel to the book Red Storm Rising? If there is then maybe that's the answer. But i'm reaching as I never read RSR or played the game.

Lets hope its a Cold War subsim. :smug:
The market is already saturated to death with WW II games.
