:rotfl:''Yawn'' .........................catch you later. ;)

Thats a promise. :yep:

Then you really wouldn't have liked all the stuff I wrote about SW divers being
"special" and feeling "entitled" and then deleted for not wanting to be inflammatory...

Cheers,
David

For the five people who are still reading this thread outside of Bellman, Molon, and myself...

I'm feeling a bit better today, so I'd expect LWAMI 3.08 to be out tomorrow.

Cheers,
David

Luft wolf would it be possible to archive the details of each of your mods plus more importantly the data that you rely on to make your mods, such as detection ranges etc.

LuftWolf 03-07-07 10:00 PM

I thought that's what I was doing with the readme? :hmm:

Regarding materials on detection ranges and platform noise levels, all of this data was taken from primary source materials available to Amizaur in Poland, mostly by the Russian Eugene Miasnikov, and then adapted to the DW database format by finiteless, jsteed, and Amizaur.

http://www.armscontrol.ru/eugene/e-pubs.htm

You'll notice one of Miasnikov's specialities listed on that page is "detectability of submarines and its impact on strategic stability in the world."

David

For those of you who want to do some reading, I suggest this as a starting point:

"Can Russian Strategic Submarines Survive at Sea? The Fundamental Limits of Passive Acoustics", http://www.princeton.edu/~globsec/pu...2miasnikov.pdf , Science & Global Security, 1994.

David

Last night, I was within an inch of starting a thread on this very subject myself (and giving up for the same reason), triggered by this latest row. It always seems (to me anyway) that the Akula guys are more "stoic" about things not to their favor (at least in their opinion) and it is the Seawolf guys that make massive noises every time something happens that seems to reduce their massive advantage. I don't find fighting for your own side particularly wrong, but I do personally find this fascinating.

Anyway, I, like all the others, await v3.08. Actually, I'm in a break period on DW (I tend to go on breaks when LWAMI keeps changing until it stabilizes), so it is more realistic to say I'm waiting for v3.1 or so...

LuftWolf 03-08-07 01:27 AM

Beh! :smug:

I'll make as many versions in two days as I want! :p

Seriously... I'd rather not have things go this way, and after 3.08 every version of the mod will go through a thorough testing process.

I got seriously surprised by the DW engine a couple times... and I thought I'd seen everything. :88)

Cheers,
David

PS The 688i divers are the most stoic of all!

Maybe i'm the 5th element reading this thread:lol: most regulary... LW, you do great work and i'm always pleased playing with the mod. I have some knowledges about Russian navy, i was on real navy duty in the past, not in Russian navy but very close. I'm so sorry because i can't share here most of my knowledges, just to say DW can't be as it is in the RL and navy operations but LWAmi makes the game most better and interesting. Keep going, mates:up:

LuftWolf 03-08-07 02:04 AM

Thanks mick! :)

I've sent the final files for 3.08 to Oneshot, he should publish them soon!

Cheers,
David

Micksp 03-08-07 02:23 AM

Do you mean LWAMI_v308_GOLD.zip?

LuftWolf 03-08-07 02:36 AM

That's for Oneshot... but there is no harm if you would like to download it, it's just not "official".

Cheers,
David

Micksp 03-08-07 02:38 AM

I'll just take a look later. Thanks!
