Royal Mail share flotation details set to be announced

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23249466

These evil heartless Tory scum would sell their Grannies if they could get away with it. Now they are selling off our Royal Mail, for some reason Thatcher and then Major left this alone!!!

Spiced_Rum 07-10-13 02:48 AM

All thanks to Amazon and internet shopping, more parcels being sent than ever before. Although the shops in towns are in decline. So Royal Mail looks like a profit making organisation, unlike the old days when it employed more staff and made losses.

So the plan is to keep all the debts, keep all the parts which struggle to make a profit and sell off the bits you can make money on.
So it looks like a lose lose situation for the taxpayer.
These Tory sell-off schemes are a strange business model, there are not many businessmen who would give away their profitable enterprises and keep only their loss making ones.

Jimbuna 07-10-13 06:16 AM

Pretty much my take on it as well.

So if you take the £1.7billion restructuring and the £1.3 billion modernisation then they are going to sell it for exactly what they recently invested in it.

No need for tax rises, says Osborne

George Osborne says he will not need to raise taxes to meet deficit reduction targets after the next election.

More bloody lies, if these pigs get back I am telling you here and now 100% they will, just watch it happen. Anyone who votes for these Tory pigs has got a screw loose.

What's all this about? :hmm2:

Quote:

Former MP Denis MacShane is to be charged with false accounting over parliamentary expenses claims, the Crown Prosecution Service has said.
Malcolm McHaffie, deputy head of the CPS special crime division said: "Having thoroughly reviewed the evidence gathered by the police, I have decided there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest to bring a criminal charge.
"This charge relates to fraudulent claims with a total value of £12,900."

Look at it this way, its one thing to claim for having your moat cleaned when moat cleaning isn't a legitimate parliamentary expense. Its another thing entirely if you claim for having your moat cleaned when you don't even own a moat.

Bloody good analogy, ashamed as I am to admit it.

Aspirational expensess; every Englishman's home is his castle, and castles have moats, and moats would need cleaning. :O:

It is corrupt but if there is no real oversight or control of MP's expenses then they will try to get away with whatever they can because the system is flawed. They should just build a secure accommodation skyscraper (Watergate Towers) in London for all MP's to stay in when away from their constituencies so that there would be no need for second homes or as many claims.
