Um, I don't know and I'm dying to find out where you came up with that. :Kaleun_Wink:

from secret sources "above the ken of the layman" as I have often used in open court! Is this Vickers Wellington MkII? Which used the RR engines.

Buddahaid 02-06-21 01:49 AM

It is a Vickers Wellington DWI Mk II. I'd never known of this odd variant until a couple of weeks ago.

Over to you where you belonged before my larceny and I can get some sleep. Nineteen hours awake and fading fast.

For you Jimbuna.

From my secret source ie: an old SCUBA magazine from my diving days :shucks:: https://www.inyourarea.co.uk/news/th...ss-wellington/ https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/i...3_FORIYA-2.jpg ...and I've been at it, incl. my DMV test appointment, since 07:00 (I passed incl. a perfect eye test!...and my REALID will say BALD under ''haircolor''!:wah:) OK what's this!> https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pic...ictureid=11779

Puh, this was a hard one and I must admit I fell for the "perspective displacement" in the detail picture and kept looking for a shoulder wing airplane. So "bravo" to Buddha for the riddle and to Aktung for unravel the mystery. Seems this one was for baldies with perfect eyesight and not for baldies that have become blind as an olm in the last years.

So, a car?

Catfish 02-06-21 05:51 AM

From what position was that Wellington photographed, in the initial photo ? :o :hmmm:

Jimbuna 02-06-21 07:34 AM

An American model/make of car?

Catfish 02-06-21 10:32 AM

A two-seater?

Yes. I kept looking for shoulder/wing also as the hint was 'nose end' till I realized I really couldn't tell fabric from metal in the picture; and that narrowed down the twin-engine RAF field considerably'. After which the engine type narrowed it even further. Persistence is one of my best traits...nose to the scent always especially as
I know zilch about Vickers Wellington bombers. But the the ghost of Christopher Plummer appeared in my mancave and muttered "think Iron Duke man!" https://i.pinimg.com/564x/55/66/d2/5...6900904d85.jpg :arrgh!: :timeout:

It's a nose crop of the upper reveal photo that shows up in Wikipedia as well as elsewhere.

Um, the Dale prototype.

Found it searching for American kit cars.

Back to you as I owe you one.

Thanks, but i still do not find the spot.. struts?

Aktungbby 02-06-21 11:29 AM

Bingo! U nailed it. It was the subject of investment fraud; I just read an article about a film on it in the WSJ a week ago, and earmarked it for this thread! It's a three-wheeler with BMW motorcycle engine designed to be fuel efficient in the '70's fuel crisis. There is one inoperative one on display museum. Over to U !!:Kaleun_Salute: I've nuthin' prepared and the bride says I gotta do winter gardening/pruning today!.... but the Continuum lives! :wah:
