Went to a high street bank this morning and was informed by the cashier that careful consideration was being taken as to whether coins would be taken in the future.

I was actually astonished and asked why, to be told that it costs the bank money to have them transported to wherever.

My response was simple "I presume I would receive advance notification if and before this happens"

The cashier assured me all of their customers would be notified in advance of such an eventuality.

My response "Good, that will give me time to switch to another bank then".
