i just finished a patrol which included a 3 week storm. i was using an edited campaign_file http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=96710
along with SH3 weather but i just found out that this mod randomizes that file everytime it runs. this was my patrol file after sh3 weather had altered it [Mission] Title= MissionType=0 MissionDataType=1 Year=1939 Month=1 Day=1 Hour=12 Minute=0 Fog=3 FogRand=2 Clouds=1 CloudsRand=0 Precip=0 PrecipRand=2 WindHeading=145 WindSpeed=6 WindRand=2 WeatherRndInterval=11 SeaType=0 Briefing= could someone please tell me what all these settings do? for eg cloudsRand is at 0, does this mean that the clouds will never change? Precip is a 0 yet it did rain on patrol. and what are the differences withthe 3 different files in the campaign folder? |
Could someone please PM me the Readme file associated with v1.02?
Thanks |

Created so that I could quickly and easily have random weather at the start of a patrol, without having to go in and manually edit the .mis files everytime THIS PROGRAMME EDITS SH3 FILES!!! BE SURE TO BACKUP your Campaign_SCN.mis, Campaign_RND.mis and Campaign_LND.mis files before using this utility!!!! Better safe than sorry! ---Version History 1.02 - 01/31/06 - RELEASE FIX and UPDATE -Fixed problem where manual values weren't updating (spelling error in CASE) 1.01 - 01/30/06 - RELEASE FIX and UPDATE -Fixed bug that didnt allow weather to change. -added background image. -added log file for diagnostics. 1.00 - 01/27/06 - RELEASE ---Installation Simply place the SH3_WeatherGen.exe in your Silent Hunter III folder, then Right Click on it, select Send To... and choose Desktop(create shortcut) Then simply run the shortcut prior to launching SH3. ---Usage Double click the shortcut you created above. Select the month your patrol will start in, use the random option, or put in your own weather manually. If you are sailing in the mediterranean, select the 29th Flotille option. The Interval for weather changes is randomly set if either option is run, hopefully providing a more random weather experience. ---Known Issues If there is rain at start of patrol, WO will be "frozen" in position, unable to move. This is a problem with SH3, not the Weather utility. To resolve, simply wait until you are far enough from port that your lookouts begin using their binoculars, then remove and replace your WO to the bridge. He should move as normal. ---Credits and thanks Shouts out to Hartmann at the Subsim Forums for all his help with file/weather information! Thanks to the following at subsim for lending their time and efforts in helping me test this and providing feedback: Panama Red, kriller2 Extra special thanks to Jaesen Jones for helping me optimise the code, and for teaching me a few new coding tricks, and helping me become a better and more efficient hobby programmer!! ---Distribution This utility is completely Freeware, and distributable by anyone, provided nothing is ever charged for its distribution, the files are not altered in anyway, and this readme is included. ---Disclaimer I created this utility with my own free time, with no cost to anyone. This software is offered as-is, and you use it at your own risk. ---Contact PM Skweetis at the SUBSIM.COM forums with any bugs, issues or enhancements that you have for the programme. Ill do my best to respond in a timely manner. Cheers and Enjoy! |
