On the battlefield, snipers often find themselves isolated from the rest of the force for days at a time, if not longer.
With people around the world stuck at home in response to the serious coronavirus outbreak, Insider asked a US Army sniper how he handles isolation and boredom when he finds himself stuck somewhere he doesn’t want to be.

Obviously, being a sniper is harder than hanging out at home, but some of the tricks he uses in the field may be helpful if you are are starting to lose your mind.

Not bad for a VERY basic explanation non-combatants can kind of understand.
Drawing sketches of the terrain in your AO goes much deeper though.
Did that piece of brush move a few feet? Could be a Counter-Sniper on the move.

Lots of books on the mind of a Sniper. But I've never seen one that fully explains it. Some say it's in the Genes. Some say it's in the mind set.
I believe it is mostly in the mind and how one controls their thoughts.

To many people are dependent on close social interactions now days.
Me?
I plan to be the one to pick through others stuff when they are gone!

Knowing we get spied on by the NSA and other Agencies while on line?
I spent hours searching for delusions, psychotic break downs,
how to dispose of bodies, and how to change identity.

Figure that would be good for a day or so out of the house at Government expense!

Instead of calling it Social Distancing, Try using the phrase Out of Melee Distance.

"Honey, I am going to the store."

"Be careful and stay out of melee distance":D
