I find the whole thread to be fairly pointless given that the US has proven time and again that its government and the NRA really doesn't care that much if its children are killed by maniacs with semi-automatic weapons with high capacity magazines.

I just hope that the non-Americans on the forum realize that not all of us [Americans] are like the above picture, despite statements by certain individuals who try to place us all in the same camp. Many of us are just as baffled by gun culture as you are.

Yeah, that guy is a freak. I own a few guns and I have been a shooter for a long time. I'm not much of a hunter (I have been hunting many times, shot few animals, too lazy to clean them, prefer sitting in the woods quietly and reading a book, watching the deer walk by...:88)). I don't get it when people abhor guns as evil sentient beings, but I don't get the desire to celebrate guns and worship them, either.

That kind of devotion is sorely misplaced when it is wasted on anything other than motorcycles.:cool:
