Thanks Jan for spotting this one, and JapLance for your explanation of how to correct it, I was having this problem too.

And thanks for the Med. Mod:salute:. It's a very different game playing in a small pond (at least compared to The Pacific) and with 10 forward tubes.

The first contact on the first patrol of HMS Tribune was a small convoy containing a Huge-Fast Troop Transport! Looks like some Italian general will be a brigade short.

Yeah, the Mediterranean makes a very different campaign, not only because it's small, but also because your subs are somewhat slow compared to the US and German boats (specially the U-Class), and you need to spend the daylight time at periscope depth due to enemy air cover.

Does anybody know of any sailing ships we could use? The Mediterranean was full of small sailing boats that were attacked with gunfire by the British submarines.

What like fishing boats or actual sailing boats with sales because the should be fair few on google warehouse and their free

Yeah, ships with sails. Schooners and that stuff, preferably already in SH format.

well i dont know any in game format, but there are a good amount off decent models to choose from on google 3d warehouse if you want to take a look

Good job guys.

A few comments

1. seems like too much traffic especially around the Libyan coast. I sank like 9 merchants on my first patrol and ran out of torps. Historically, there were only 10 subs in Med on 6/10/40, and they were mostly based in Malta. The traffic was mostly around Italy so that's where the patrols should be for the most part for the first couple months.

2. Italian ASW in the game is just shocking. I know they don't have sonar. but can something be done? They are absolutely irresponsive. I just floated (by accident) into the middle of their task force and downed 3 battleships and destroyers are just doing nothing.

3. Sirtori has Hydrophone and Sonar specified in the sns file, but the nodes H01 and N01 aren't specified in the dat file, perhaps you might want to add them?

It was my intention to create different layers for each of the years, but for the moment I wanted to have something that worked properly. In the future I will probably implement them, and will take into account your comments.

Yes, their hydrophones are not very good at the beginning. Perhaps I could give them the later hydrophones for the whole duration of the war and get rid of the early ones.

This looks good but what version do you need play it? I only have 1.4
Dont matter found out you need version 1.5

To be honest, I haven't tried on 1.4. I just recommend 1.5 because so it is for WDAD.

It may be a good excuse to update your SH4 :D. I think that SH4+UBM is pretty cheap this days.

I actually reworked most of the convoys and traffic, I can shoot you the files if you want them. I also added alot more planes since I hardly saw any before. Cruising during the daylight on the surface for long periods of time is unrealistic, this is not Pacific.

Can you add an Italian search plane like a Ca 309 or CANT Z501?

That actually wouldn't do anything. i tested with the PeriphonA+P setup and both German and Italian patrol boats do see my periscope depth sub and do ping and attack. However, with a Hydrophone only they probably are just not programmed to do anything, so even if they can hear me they are clueless as to what to do since the sonar part is missing. maybe it's better to give them some sort of poor primitive sonar so at least they could try to find me?

In 1940 I think it's fine the way it is now, since RA didn't do much work for the Navy, neither search or ASW. Later on, when the Germans arrive in 1941 I think air coverage is adequate, reaching its peak in Mid 1942.

Unfortunately no. We will have to live with the Sparviero and the German planes.

Regarding the Hydrophone question, more testing is needed. I'm not giving the Italian escorts an active device earlier than historical without a good reason. This is why I wish some more people would report on things like that.
