Captain Zeb's Granddaughter
Thank you to all who have posted your thoughts, stories and accolades for my Grandfather, Captain Zeb Alford. I am his Granddaughter Samantha and am so proud to be so. I can always remember being in awe of him as a child, and as an adult. He experienced a life that most people only to get to see in movies. I loved hearing his Navy stories and never tired of them. From spending summers on our farm in New Hampshire to crawling around in the Cavalla, I have the most wonderful memories of him. He was the greatest man I have ever known. A patriot, a family man, a living part of history. I have always been drawn to the sea and I believe I get that from him. Some of our favorite talks of late were of my scuba diving trips and how I always feel like I belong under the water. I will think of him every time I descend...imagining him always being under the sea with me.
Calm seas ahead for you Granddad...I know you will be watching over me always. Baby Sam:salute: |
Rest in peace, Sir.
A best place is in your way. |
Another great man on eternal patrol. A fine example of a true American patriot and Skipper. Your memories live on and one day in the future we may see each other again.:salute::salute::salute:

I also did not know the man but he was NAVY. I was in the Navy but on carriers. Smooth sailing in the big ocean in the sky. It's been a while since I posted.
