Water boy 11-22-07 05:06 PM

Just died on my 40 something mission, December 43 and thinking 'shall I go for it again'?, start over, long time spent getting to 43, etc etc......:hmm:
And what do you guys do........
No question now, took my brand new V11B and headed straight to Scapa to see if I can celebrate in style before whacking in a donation to get V2.
It gets better....... on leave from the week before XMas to the 7th of Jan, I'll tell the wife I'm sailing early, the 9th sounds a good day to start and I'll see her and the kids when I dock, probably round about the, well, 7th January........:rotfl:
Awesome commitment, hard work and dedication guys, we all appreciate it.
Regards and have a good Xmas, I'd like to wish it nearer the festive season but I'll hopefully be in the North Atlantic by then sinking merchants.....

Does the GWX team accept money order?:hmm:

Tis not for the GWX team
GWX is and will always be a freeware mod

The donations are to Subsim
To help Neal to continue paying to host this great site
Without whom there would be no GWX
Or anything else come to that

:ahoy:

my bad...:damn: :nope: Neal do you accept Money orders?

I will be happy to send few bucks... (My wife is in accord with me)

Again: BRAVO!!!

Hi!

We apologize for any confusion.

GWX has been and will always be freeware. :sunny:

The donation will be to Neal Stevens at Subsim for hosting the mod for a week prior to general release, so Subsim will be handling the financial details...

To all concerned. Please read ALL of the following from the first post, very closely, to remove any confusion.

No donations will line the pockets of Grey Wolves team members or other mod contributors.

The Grey Wolves Expansion is and will remain freeware and will be made more readily available to the community at large following the one week donation period. Neal Stevens has been our benefactor on more than one occasion during the production of GWX. In my opinion, it is the least we can do.

Following the one-week donation-only download period, we hope to release GWX 2.0 to the general public on December 16th. (As it so happens, December 16th is the one year anniversary of the initial release of GWX 1.0)

Barring real life disasters and unforseen problems... that is our plan.

To all, on behalf of the entire GWX Dev team and crew... thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Your good words are sincerely appreciated.

We appear to remain on schedule.

Attention all crew, please report back to the flotilla offices for briefing no later than this Saturday.

Thank you, GWX Team, and congrats on completing this mammoth project!

Eagerly await the release of GWX 2.0 and can't begin to imagine the enormous amount of time and expertise it has taken to produce such an awesome achievement. I for one will be readily donating for the upkeap of subsim. I recently was one of the many who donated to download the latest Radiohead album from their official site, and I see this as no different except, I will gleen far more enjoyment from GWX 2.0 than I ever could from a CD, my donation shall reflect that. (I assume it is a donate what you feel is right sort of basis, just as the Radiohead CD was?)

I realise the GWX team receive no financial reward for their hard work, so I can only hope that the great appreciation and admiration of us humble Kaleuns is adequate recompense for the effort you have all put in.

I do agree with the idea..and it's a honor and friendship idea no doubt !

Thought there are some amoung us that allready made a donation
and those will have to donate again ?!:hmm:

If someone allready donated and helped will have to wait like the rest
who didn't , and it looks a bit unfair to me !:hmm:

just mi 2 cents on this subject!

Kpt. Lehmann 11-23-07 06:46 AM

Well JCWolf, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

However, I strongly disagree that it is 'unfair.'

I'm sure many have donated before.

However, if you like you can consider it to be like a car-wash fundraiser for Subsim.com.

On the streets, if you donate to one car wash... and come to another one later... ya still gotta donate right?

Besides, in just one week GWX 2.0 becomes readily available to all for free as we have promised... which makes the whole debate pointless. We have all waited months to see it... one more week won't kill anyone.

Anyway, the decision is made. I'm sorry that you feel it is unfair.

The Kapitan is right. Just look at it as helping out Subsim.com with it's costs and getting the extra benefit of being able to download GWX 2.0 a week early. Nothing unfair about that. :yep:

I agree with kpt lehmann & nvdrifter too.
I think that, whether the donation will go, the people of subsim and GWX are doing a fanstatic job for the subsimmer community threfore I don't care who donates and who does not, I have donated and I will be pleased to do it again if this can help this good service to carry on.

Ciao a tutti

I see what you mean, mate. Well, just to add my 2 cents, I would like to say that many of us made a donation to the site, weeks/months/years ago, and it's ok... But it does not change the fact that Neal needs to find money today to maintain the site tomorrow.

Wolfehunter 11-23-07 01:59 PM

I've ask Neal an alt way to donate.

You don't have to use paypal to help Subsim. Money order is fine as long as its in US dollars.

Email subsim@subsim.com to Neal Stevens to get the proper address if you want to help him support GWX.

Goodhunting :D

GWX 2.0 Projected Release Date (Yes Really)

I believe the service that Neal provides in this Website for so many & to my knowledge has never (ask) anything in return, deserves at the very least, a thank you & that is what i will consider my donation as, "the 9th" !

Jimbuna 11-23-07 05:43 PM

Whilst I'm sure Neal appreciates every donation (and I myself have donated on numerous occasions), I think it is a fitting tribute that those who are financially able, show a little support if they are mindful to.
Hell.....your not just helping fund the continuation of an excellent site, but your also gaining quicker access to a great mod into the bargain

Hi! Thank you so much for the hard work that has obviously gone into this update/replacement of the earlier works. Let's talk turkey- what, as a previous donater to Subsim.com, should I expect to donate for this? No complaint should be construed from this, by the way; I've paid tubs for games that never panned out, and am much more willing to pay for a product that has a track record, as opposed to so much crap I've paid for that never panned out. I truly love SH3, as it is presently presented, and is patched/ modded. I want to know what you, the people who actually did the work, and put in the time for this, expect a person to pay for it. Sorry if this is overly capitalistic; but a person should be properly recompensed, in the way they choose, for the time they have expended doing something others will certainly take advantage of. Time is the only thing you cannot get back. So what, in your opinion, is fair recompense for what will surely be yet another great leap forward in this game we all bought 2 or more years ago?
