- During the Sub School's first mission, the contact markers on the nav map showed ships travelling over the island you'r suppose to travel around. I would hate a situation where Im trying to overhaul a juicy troopship, which takes a shortcut through an island , that I have to go around...

- Crew management screen, the medals are weird (at least to me). There is a Victory Cross (perhaps it should be the Medal of Honour?), I thought this was a sim of US navy instead of RN or am I missing something. Also other medals there are oddly named, like the Purple Heart is "Wounded medal" in the game. Why not just "Purple Heart".

-The Submarine Combat Insignia would have been nice to have (awarded from 1 or more missions that had scored at least one sinking or some other equally importan mission). We had the U-Boat badge in SH3...Correct medals and names would be nice to have. Now that the automatic crew rotation seem to work very good imho.

Game appears to be really good so far with this new patch.

I found out that the game does not freeze if you hit 'F12' instead of 'M', hitting F12 gives you the same screen but without any nasty side affects.:D

OK this is even worse.

A crashes. Clicking on the depth gauge crashes.

So other than periscope (P) or surface (S) i now have a submarine whose depth i cant control. Setting any click on the gauge crashes out.

Patch has broken things more critical than the old version!

I just tested this... hit A... Crash to desktop

I think it has to do with using feet instead of meters.

Anachronous 03-22-07 07:34 PM

High end ATI cards not detecting 3D application and thus not increasing core/mem speed.

Since Patch 1.1 I can't set depth by clicking the depth gauge on the bottom right. CTD, same as A key. Any other way to set depth other than P or C?

If you find it let me know. Having a submarine where i cant change depth defeats the purpose - its called a boat.

heres a wacky bug, both of my diesels were damaged and and my back was flooding, i managed to fix electrics and 1 diesiel was fixed other was destroyed, then flooding was fixed, then i decided to go to periscope depth, cuz i hate jap airplanes all over me, i was sitting duck, then i shot down into the ocean straight down, and by the time i pressed printscreen i was at 1000 feet and countingm then i reached 1400 and died:doh::doh::doh::doh:,

Oh my... no joy here either. Game CTD's when clicking depth cauge:damn:. Nice try with this new patch tho.

Other thing, when I loaded my career game during heavy seas. The watch crew was without oilskins and sou'western's on the bridge (they were wearing them when saved). Manual switching didn't help like it did in sh3, nor the autorotation didn't bring the new watch with proper gears.

confirmed.
and a very annoying one it is too!

Apparently the CTD's by manual depth setting are caused by the imperial system. I tested it with the metric system and no CTD.

No joy of the imperial system with this patch as it only serves as a source of CTD. :damn:

Apparently this is an evil plot by the romanians to convert the remaining people using the imperial system to use the metric system.
Use feets, click the button and CTD. Use metrics, click the button and enjoy. Learned behaviour, they're teaching us like dogs. :hmm:

Whenever a merchant is sunk (with deck gun at least), the crew will announce a 'ship spotted!' on the ship going down.

When recieving the patrol star after first patrol in career mode, the text in the reward screen said "on your 0 patrol". Phrasing is wrong and the number is wrong.

When one diesel and one electric engine in S-18 was knocked out, there was no more diesel sound from the other engine still running.

Clicking "a" to maintain depth crashes to desktop.

In career mode, 1943 starting from Pearl, there is some cruiser or similar anchored SW of the carrier in port that has no textures (black surface).

In very windy stormy weather without rain, turning off environmental effects raised FPS (massively) but the ocean could periodically be seen flickering like crazy, especially when seeing the moon's reflection (ATI 1950 PRO 256mb powercolor 7.2 catalyst).

Crew always issues "all stop!" order when loading an in-patrol save.

? When crashing own sub into harbor, was dead/arrested for destroying important ship to american navy. Might not be a bug if self-inflicted but probably happens no matter how one loses a ship.

Issued order in patrol to cause damage to task force when reporting contacts, but the task force was unreachable (moving away at very high speed). Could be design flaw.

When surfacing (usually after using time compression and moving around on map for some distance) the crew will announce that they are out of oxygen and need to surface (S-18 sub).

Radar cannot be used manually even when installed in S-18. Crew reports it's usage however. Button to turn it on greyed out in menu.

"Imperial" setting reverts to metric after reloading an in-patrol save.
