Does GWX change the propeller sounds?
If so; do the old sound charts to me sure ship speed by propeller RPM still work?
If it does not will you publish new charts?

Exactly what I do too! Hehe. Or want to, but I can't DL it at work and the pdf is so big @ 17 MB that my company's email rules won't let it through if I try to email it to myself at work from home. So I'm a bit stuffed and may have to print it at home.

Borrow a usb memory stick.

or write it to a disc even

Or get a hex editor and write it out by hand then type it back in a hex editor and add .pdf to the end of the filename. :yep:

You could alwats replace them with an image file.

Actually, I think I've found a different solution. Check the next release and see if we've fixed it! :)

First, make sure your SH3 install is clean. Roll back SH3 Commander if you use it, uninstall your previous version of SH3, and then once that's done delete all the SH3 folders out of the C:/Program Files/Ubisoft and C:/My Documents directories. Run a good registry cleaner. Next step, install stock SH3 and apply the 1.4b patch. Once you've done that and are primed for GWX fun, pour yourself a whiskey (2 fingers full in a rocks glass with 3 ice cubes, just the way Sinatra liked it) and put on Das Boot.

Rinse, repeat until GWX is out.

Ah . . . and which SHIII should I uninstall? As I have four independant versions currently residing on my HD. And deleting the folders out of My Documents isn't an option for me, since as much as I'm looking forward to playing GWX I really don't desire to delete the info from all my other careers and games.

Hi, can I offer a solution to this as I have 3 variations on my HD; I created a stock SHIII with 1.4 on my External Hard Drive [120GB] then downloaded GWX Beta into My Documents, started up the exe. and when it asked for the path, I pointed the GWX Beta file into that version [for example .. 'D' Drive/SHIII].
To start it, I go into the SHIII folder and fire it up by clicking the red SHIII icon = works like a charm.
A 40/80 GB Hard Drive is very cheap now in this rip-off Country so will be nickels and dimes elsewhere.
Having an external hard drive saved me a lot of hassle and stress.

PS One other point of note if you decide to do this is not to have a SHIII folder in My Documents when you fire it up as one is created [I created 'Garages' in My Documents folder for the different versions].

Hi...I believe your using a similar method to me...the only difference being that I copy and paste the red SH3 icon onto the desktop (after having renamed it stock, HT 1.47,GW,GWX or whatever) and as you rightly say "works like a charm"

Dan - I'm so stupid - didn't think of that. Doh! But I had thought of copying to a CD. There's a lovely colour laser printer at work - yeehaa!

Safe-Keeper 12-14-06 11:48 AM

Hmmm, got'ta try that. Sneaking into the homework chamber of my school and covertly printing all 182 pages without getting caught. Operation Versteckte Drucker, cousin of Safe-Keeper and the Might Colour Cartridge Queen, the manga classic. It'll go down in history.

Been a while since I installed SHIII, so are you saying that the 1.4b patch is the only one to install? There are 3 prior patches, so just want to be sure!

Thanks!

danlisa 12-14-06 12:30 PM

@ Eddie

1.4b is all you need.:yep:

fredbass 12-14-06 12:38 PM

Just to clarify though I"m sure somebody said this already.

You don't have to download to print it. Just open the Online pdf manual and print.

Although I'm sure glad I printed it on our lazer printer at work. (still took about 20 min.)
