Gaphics Editing Software

I'm just wondering what kind of graphics editing software you guys use to make all the great signitures and other images I see on this forum. I would very much like to try a hand at it myself, but can't seem to find any graphics program to do what I want it to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Paint Shop Pro 9 over here, but mostly using it for editing digital photos. Very good cost-efficiency ratio. Functionality offers me all that I can think of, while handling of course must be learned, but is easier than with other software around. New version 10, however, is said to have messed up the easy handling. I do not plan to get it, or any later version of the next couple of years.

Im with Skybird on this one. I bought PSP 9 a few years ago I think it was. Ive been very happy with it. I tried PhotoShop CS but it made me cry a lot. For my needs PSP 9 is way cheaper and its sufficient. Im sure that CS does umpteen more things and 10 times more powerful. It is just so dang hard to get started on that I gave up on it even before the trial version expired.

Problem is if you want to take courses or use it profesionall you better take the time to learn Photoshop. It has more future and a lot of third party material you can use. There is also all the other Adobe programs that ties in with it nice, such as InDesign.

Part of the problem with Adobe PhotoShop is that it has been around for so long that it has become the industry standard. As time went on they added more and more features as designers and graphic artists have demanded more and more from it. As a result it's overwhelming for a newbie not to mention the steep price tag. Much better to go with Paint Shop Pro or a free program if you just wanna do simple editing.

Hey, thanks guys for taking the time to answer my questions. Subman1, I've d/led the program you have mentioned and will give it a try. I currently have Paint Shop Pro 7, but just can't make heads or tails out of it. I used to have MS 2001 Picture It (Platinum Edition). I was able to do many things with it for the website I maintain, but during one of my many computer upgrades, Picture it wouldn't install any more. Again, thanks for your help.

I use Photoshop and Paintshop pro 9,

does your Paintshop 7 come with tutorials you could DL lots of "How To" free tutorials on the net, i find PaintShop easier to learn than Photoshop with Photoshop i always get the layers messed up. Although my sig below was done with photoshop.
