Click the British White Ensign flag there for English.

And it's standalone, no SH3 or anything required.

Anyway, it's sort of a training tool that puts you in front of a fake hydrophone station where you can practice target identification by sound only... it comes with a very complete table of ships sounds and their RPM to speed relations. It even gives you nifty little tests like "Target is going at x knots, what boat is it?" and you have to identify it by sound alone, or the other way around, where you know the boat, but have to determine speed and range by sound only.

It pretty cool, except that most major mods have invalidated it by changing all the ship's sound files

Looks like they stole the hydrophone graphics from SHIII and made a few "adjustments". This wouldn't be developed by GMX would it? :hmm:

Hi Kylania Tthks for quick response. Isee what your talking about but, whhen in use it fills my screen so much I can't see or click right flag. Iv'e tried to drag pic and used arrow keys . No luck. I hope you or anyone else can help this lunkhead figger this out.:D

Go to your install directory (Hidrofono) and right click on the little anchor, click properties, click compatabilitiy, under compatability mode click Run program in compatability mode for, Select Windows 2000, click Apply, O.K.
That should get it. I noticed mine was set for Windows 95.

Even after you select English for the language you will notice all of the ship names are still in Spanish. I took the liberty of changing these.

Just Copy/Paste the text below in place of the text in Hidrofono/BarcosNomSP (right click propertis on the file and uncheck Read Only first or you wont be able to Save)
I did'nt do all of the warships because they have no sound files anyway.

I'm impressed by it. It sounds like it could be a great prog if it was updated for some mods. The only thing I ran into was the fact that when I did either of the two tests I coulnd't figure out how to actually identify the ship. The manual just showed me the front cover and I couldn't open it.

Oh and did anyone else notice the girl that shows up with the Liberty Cargo? Howza!:p

The Commander Richi has solved the problem of the names of the ships, that were appearing only in Spanish. Now they are in english.

I think its more of a self evaluation. Guess the ship type then hit the See The Ship button to see if you are correct.
