View Full Version : Annoying reports when leaving the harbor

This question has been addressed before but I could not find if there was a solution.
Using the Grey Wolves mod, I find leaving the harbor frustrating. Every single friendly ship and aircraft is reported and the TC takes a hit.
I have tried moving the watch below decks but I still get the reports (and the TC hit).
Has anyone found a workaround for this? As problems go, this is not the worst but it sure is annoying.
Is there any way I can politely tell my crew "halt die Schnauze!"?

I fear not so I always leave with TC 8, this doesn't drop when ships are reported. A few minutes later you're far enough away andyou can increase TC.

Personally I find leaving port cool
I stand on the bridge and take in all the shipping as I leave
Sometimes its the only chance you will get to see the big ships of the surface fleet

It's cool, that's true, but most of the time the ships are the same with very little changes. It can become repetitive after some time but still waaaaay better than in vanilla.

Go to periscope depth and send your sonar man to quarters.

just send your watch officer to below deck quarters for a rest and he won't be on the bridge to call out contacts, don't forget to send him to the bridge again later :D

Set your speed to Ahead Slow, and once you are clear of the sub birth, start plottting your course, being mindful of nets and minefields. It's best not to go 8 in TC while close in, but the further out you get, you can increase the TC incrementally.

Same here. I love the sea, and I live so far from it now that even a virtual harbor is wonderful. I always sail in and out in real time.

I have to TC out of the harbor because I always get this urge to torpedo my own fleet. Itchy trigger finger as it were:yep: I TC as high as it will let me(after I set my waypoints) and just keep beating on the TC key until I'm clear of the fleet and harbor! I do not hear my watch officer calling off every boat, ship, skiff, kayak, raft, inflatable in the harbor!

Bernard is just the crew member(ficticious) that seems to mess everything up on your boat. If he shows on the dock for your next patrol. Send him for a left handed smoke shifter and he is not to return until he finds one. You will be so far out of port when he figures out there is not such thing as a left handed smoke shifter:up: that it won't matter anyway.
