First blood?

What was your very first kill in all of subsimming?

For me mine was the american Destroyer USS Cole back in sub command since then ive sunk 893,500 tonnes of shipping in the akula.

I recently managed to get SH3 to work on my Other PC which has to go back to my home at the end of week (means no more SH3 :( ) but so far on my first ever mission in 1942 i have sunk 5 ships only 1 of which were merchant.

You really think I can remember something like that!? My first SubSim was "Silent Service" on Commodore 64, I think I was 5 or 6yrs old back then. :D

Gods...probably some kinda of Japanese freighter in Silent Service on the original Nintendo back in the late 1980s, I borrowed it off a friend at school and had many a fun hour blasting away torpedoes at distant freighters.

I don't even remember what my first subsim was let alone the first ship I sank!:oops::lol: I played Command: Aces of the Deep, Silent Service for the NES, and 688 Attack Sub for the Sega Genesis all about the same time. If it was CAOD it was some unsuspecting merchie. If it was SS on NES, it was some Jap merchant or destroyer. If 688, it was whatever kind of ship they had in that game. :lol:

That must have been in Aces of the deep. I fired 4 torps at the biggest ship in sight and hit. :D

My fist kill in Silent Hunter 3 was a Small merchant in the Carreer mode. They where 2 in a line formation. I got both. :D (Automatic Targeting back then)

Let the secret out and the truth be known. The Tommie's didn't do it. I SUNK THE BISMARK. There I feel much better now. THE guilt is finally lessening. I feel sooo... releived.:yep:

Same here, Japanese something-or-other (probably a merchant; they didn't have carriers until SS2), except on Atari 520ST. I was 35.

I don' remember excatly, but I think it must have been in Gato for the Atari ST 1040. I think I was 9 or 10 back then and didn't know a word of english. How I was able to control and understand the game at all, is beyond me.

I'll never forget the time i sunk the Japanese Yamato Battleship in SH1. She was travelling fast too so it was a hit or miss, I hit her with 4 torps but she kept going for another 10miles of so only to slow right down - where i was able to catch up and finish her off. Sounds like 10min of gameplay but it actually took me hrs to do it
