I also don't exactly agree with everything he is saying - the current anti-muslim viewpoints of some of the Western world are not entirely without justification. And he still seems to want freedom of speech limited to protect the prophet Muhammed and other such things (at least that's what I understood). But at least he is saying that muslims should not be so hypocritical when it comes to crimes committed in the name of Islam (whether that is a false connection is another matter). I personally don't think it will have any effect on anything though.

Currently, Egypt is a secular state that is not subjected to the Imams of the East.

Egypt is however, attempting to root out Muslims who are trying to bring Egypt under Sharia and away from the secular world.

It would seem that this speech is directed more towards the populace of Egypt to keep the current situation as it is and the secular government in power.

Mubarak is a dicator. But one with whom I can live - at least, currently. If you want to see where more democarcy leads in egypt, check last election results. Muslim Brotherhood jumped from almost nil to 20% . And the freedom during the election procedures was still very limited. Imagine what happens when they are completely unregulated. Democracy is no match for Islam.
