Yes. This has nothing to do with PC. This has everything to do with ridiculous liability litigation and insurance.

Someone else must always be responsible for someone else's mishaps.

Next, there will be an uproar over this, and the school will say OK, but only if you have a helmet! Crap - kids need to run and get exercise. This is the most ludicrous idea I have ever seen coming form an American puplic institution!

What is happening to our world??? Why are terririst even trying to bring us down? They don't need to when our own stupid ideas will do the job for them. All they have to do is sit back, relax, and wait.

Not that I know of. Anyway what would happen to British public schools if there was no rugger buggery in teh showers after a match :D

NUTS!

Ban recess then. I also suggest that students be tied to their chairs, just in case one of the pupils decides to sit with a dangerously bad posture at the verge of loosing balance and falling on the floor possibly breaking every bone in their body and dieing a few minutes later before the ambulance can arrive, imagine that.

Another Willett parent, Celeste D'Elia, said her son feels safer because of the rule. "I've witnessed enough near collisions," she said.
"I've witnessed..."? How much do you want to bet that her son never said he feels safer; that those words are hers?

And I agree completely with TteFAboB's comments about "protecting" them. I once fell of the monkey bars and hit my head. Jokes about mental states aside, I survived the experience without even telling anyone, much less seeing a doctor.

Kids are made of rubber-they bounce.

"the potential for injury is too great," my A$$

why don't they ban pencils, pens, spiral notebooks, scisors, glue, paper, and chalk. why aren't they padding the rooms with high-density foam and putting the kids in football pads and helmets? Its time to change all of this.

except their heads, which are made of stone.

I think we should just put all of them in glass bubbles, hide them from truth and reality and read fairly tales to them until they turn 18, then throw then into the world fat dumb and happy.

CB..if they took that logic to it's conclusion, I guess it would be denying his human rights to stop him from molesting more children, then?

I know it's coming here eventually, but God I have to feel sorry for England now. Is there any chance that sane people can regain control?

well you've hit the issue right on the button there...how long untill it is an infringement of their human rights to even try to prevent them from abusing children or any other criminal from committing a crime..how long will it be before it is an offence to even mention the subject...

the trouble is ..i have absolutely no idea where the hell this stuff is coming from...it just seems to pop into existence from no where..i really think it would wrong to assume it is down to one political party as it just seems to be soaked into the entire media circus..

and it is insane...and you know the really wierd thing...no one cares...blank faces every-where...the lights are on but no-one is home..every day of the week for years now the newspapers have carried these sorts of news items...and nothing....no reaction...frankly it's beyond me entirely...i gave up in 1984 (somewhat ironicaly) ..it's just too insidious
i can remember the day it first appeared tho.. towards the end of Maggie Thatchers reign....basically it was the "greed is good" moment..
