Nice link! It makes sense since more and more companies are banning internet usage on the job so that people can...actually do their job???? :rotfl:

A typical addict is a single, white college-educated male in his 30s, who spends more than 30 hours a week on "non-essential" computer use, it found.
Oh man, im in trouble. Thats me to the letter. Only it's worse in my case. I deal with the internet on both a professional level and then also on my freetime in the form of gaming. It's amzing im not fat tub of lard.

Did it say if porn is considered "non-essential" or not?

Go back two decades in time before the internet was commonplace and we'd be back to complaining about how we spend too much time in front of the TV watching whatever they shovel our way. At least on the internet you can choose your content and interact with real human beings instead of passively watching Norm on Cheers belly up to the bar.

The internet has the advantage of being interactive, yes, but at the same time, it is not the same as interacting with another person. I'm a resident assistant in one of the dormitories here at Duke, and we've had cases where roommates refuse to speak to one another and rely on IM programs, such as AIM to facilitate all of their communication. If that's the situation, usually we know that it's a problem.

L-O-L dot  I'm actually the opposite.
If I can't talk face to face, I call. If I can't call, then, at last, comes the e-mail.
I don't like sending e-mails to people I know if I can avoid it. And apparently some people can't respect this. I explain that I don't like e-mails. I'm too theatrical. I want you to pay attention to my voice, my face and my hands.

I love being online. I also love playing with my computer, watching movies, going to movies, talking to people and just walking around outdoors.
I guess I come from the old generation.
