Yep, looks like the quay on the left of the sub is merged into the hull.

Well spotted:up:

Maybe it's actually that little bump on the bow's portside. :p

BTW, we are looking at the HMS Superb, a UK Swiftsure class sub. :know:

Is that a German flag the guy on the sail is wearing...?

That house on the hill in the background.

The curtains are completely wrong.

Only from the outside. From the inside you can read what they are creating with the different blends of colors using the harbor as a backdrop. With the curtains closed it may not look appealing from the outside, I'm not quite sure how to fix that.

From the inside they look great.

Well if you want it as the new bump thread I will give you a clue in 50 more posts!!

What's wrong is that they've allowed the ensign to warp around the flagpole. :nope:

Linton, you took the photo in the nude and no one in the picture saw you in the nude. :p

I figured it out! At this point, what is wrong here is that we don't have enough posts in this thread!

It looks like they are missing a few tiles and they need to take target practice on the seagulls for crapping on their boat

Hmmm...

It's sunny at Faslane - MUST be a photoshop.

The boat has no periscope raised, I understood that was required when on the surface, unless she's just been pushed away from - or is going up against - the wall, in which case she may not be underway?

By the amount of brass on the fin they knew the photographer was there - naked or not!

Is it...

The guy in red and yellow hugging the captain?? (Isn't that an offence??, no, wait, it's the British Navy!:D)

No tugs (Then again if the RN version of Bernard is in the torpedo room, would you want to go near it?:nope:)

The bird poo on the bow (Seagull's can now sh!t under water at 800 feet??:hmm:)

I hope this isn't some geeky thing like the starbord quantum flux capacitors hatch is painted blue instead of red.

Well those who mentioned the weather and short sleeve uniform got it right. The sun is shining in Scotland and not a biting insect in sight. You can just make out the rain clouds gathering!!
Perhaps somebody would like to submit another one.

Ah, easy!

The sub has just surfaced the first time in three months. The crew´s been smoking pot the whole submerged drive, so now they came to surface to ventilate the sub.

Pot = wrong

Right? :yep:

The Avon Lady

The sun is shining yet everybody's wearing long sleeved shirts. :88)

ASWnut101

thats alot of pot, and why would it be coming out of the snorkel? that goes to engine room....

SUBMAN1
10-19-06, 03:42 PM
What is wrong = THe sub had a main engine power failure and is unable to move?

Linton

The sub and tug are facing in opposite directions?

The Avon Lady
10-20-06, 01:11 AM
I think I see 2 tugs. Did the sub get stuck on a sand bank? :hmm:

bookworm_020
10-20-06, 01:20 AM
The tugs are going backward!!!

Kapitan
10-20-06, 03:49 AM
Its not unusual i dont think for subs to run the auxilary diesel motors just so they know they work, also the tug running backwards doesnt mean anything realy the tug is the brakes they do it all the time on big ships and submarines they also act as a steering system.

Linton
10-20-06, 06:34 PM
That is the back-up diesel running though I hope it is not always that smokey. It is an s-boat,but not swiftsure. She had a bigger rudder due to not having a pump-jet!

micky1up
10-21-06, 12:02 PM
its faslane and its not raining!

the tug has thruster and a propeller that can turn 360 so she can push pull in any direction and no matter what diessels always make alot of smoke

From time to time, don't nuclear subs purge the secondary coolant lines? Something about acid buildup. However, I doubt that's what's going on there. Usually they get out to sea a couple miles and the deck is always cleared so the steam -- which is slightly radioactive -- doesn't hit anyone.

I'm sure that does wonders for the sea life.
