I wish i could think of something positive to say. But living in an already crowded part of the country, i only have very negative things to say. Blech.
Maybe in 10 years time will be so packed to the gills, they'll have to adopty china like policies. IE, 1 kid per family, more requires govermental permission.

More people = more taxpayers. Maybe if enough people pay taxes, we can start to pay less.

Landmines = $3 per AP mine
$1,000,000,000 (approximate amount of $ to be spent on border LE this year) / 3 = Approximately 3,333,333,333 landmines.
Sounds alot easier to me to just go that route and be done with it. Then We'll add punji pits to the equation.
Maybe, just maybe, people will actually immigrate legally after we start doing that.

More people, more cars, more traffic jams, more *******s to put up with, less housing, higher housing rates, longer lines at the stores, resturants, etc. more more more of everything. BLAH. If i wasnt living in a crowded, overpriced place, where people CONTINUE to move to, every year, making it worse and worse as time goes on, i probably wouldnt have such an assinine view of it.

Unfortunately, more and more people ARE moving to America. hmm. Well yes, this is the land of opportunity and the land of immigrants. It's kind of funny in a way. We've got a lot of people bashing our country, yet they continue to move here in groves. :hmm: :ping: :ping: :ping: :ping: :ping: Get my point? :ping:

I just realized something. What the heck am I doing? Why am I telling everybody how great a country I live in? Maybe if I stop, they'll stop coming and we won't become overpopulated. I'm sorry. :know:

That post was mostly tongue in cheek. If it gets that warm the rest of the US will be a parched wasteland. At which point it'll all become Vegas.

Wrong! Not enough work to go around here. It will just mean that a bunch more people will be on welfare and the ones who work will be paying for it all.

The New Colossus, by Emma Lazarus (http://www.endex.com/gf/buildings/liberty/libertyfacts/EmmaLazarus/emma.htm), 1883
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
with conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
a mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame,
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

From what i've read they did, except they included in the discussion not only the Europeans and Mexicans and Asians, but the tribe in the next valley as well.
Of course what we call "indigenous peoples" are in reality the latest of several successive waves of imigrants to these shores...

Actually its like this. More people - more crap, More Disease and less food and other resources that are necessary to survive.
And here is a another fact. The population doubles every 22 years but that was 30 years ago. As the world population expands it does so GEOMETRICALLY not ARITHMETHCIALLY.
For those that don't understand that concept don't worry. All it means is that we will double in population faster and faster over time.

True that, August. Still I read in the paper (International Herald Tribune FWIW) that a lot of crops like tomatoes are rotting since tougher immigration measures were implemented. One guy complained he could only find 400 workers rather than the 900 he usual had, illegals of course. Now where are the unemployed Americans to do that work, there are many aren't there?

I know some people who run into a little bad luck, but there are still plenty of good paying jobs. Just go to school, excel, study, graduate, learn a skill which pays well and has plenty of job openings and you're in. Skipping school and not learning a trade will get you nowhere.
From where I sit everyday, there seems to be a shortage of skilled workers.

Their jobs were outsourced to India. One of the fastest growing areas in IT, also the cheapest in labor costs.
