Today's fourth anniversary of the 2002 Bali bombings serves as a sobering reminder of the global struggle against terrorism, says acting NSW Premier John Watkins.

The October 12 blasts in a busy tourist district on the Indonesian island killed 202 people, including 88 Australians.

The Bali bombings were our 9/11. It is a sad anniversary. I have a friend from my local hockey club in Sydney who was injured on that night in Bali. Thankfully he was not seriously hurt and is back with the club and the boys on the hockey field. Well done Dunny. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and of the survivors from that fateful evening in Kuta, Bali.
